Poker News and Live Streams - HU4LOLLZ

As far as I know nobody has substantiated the claim that he threatened her, unless she’s referring to telling her that millions of people are going to see the hand.

I don’t think he gave her the death stare on camera, I think that was pretty clearly the WTF stare. I’m pretty sure they also showed them in the background on stream having the conversation to the side, and I don’t think it was in a dark hallway, but maybe there were multiple conversations on the side.

Feldman really should come out and set the record straight on the conversation on the side.

So you don’t even have a theory or leaning about how it happened, and after four or five days of all this discussion you’re genuinely still thinking she was cheating? Like, you lean relatively strongly that way?

I mean, dude lost a $300k+ pot to a jack high hero call. Just a stare down for that is a top .1% outcome.

If that happened to Hellmuth he’s in jail.

Yeah I found it odd at the table that she called it a death stare or called him angry or whatever it was, I thought the look was pretty clearly one that indicated shock, confusion, and the explosion of his brain.

And yes, I know nobody has substantiated what he said about the convo either. I think Feldman should set the record straight on that, but I can see why he wouldn’t want to.

I dont think its audacious at all to death stare someone after they make that play. Again, it’s maybe the most polite option possible.

Kind of reminds me of one of my best poker friends, who is a nice sweet guy.

One time he was in a massive downswing and on the bubble of a $1k his stack was dwindling. Think he was down to like just sub 12-15bb or something. Shoves QQ otb, bb who is a friend tanks for like 3 min with ~3-5 more BB and calls a4o. Just ICM suicide but finds an ace.

Got a very strong “what are you doing” from my friend.

The screenshot is from 5:43:45. Looks like nothing to me. I think it’s just same underwear/lining we saw from the earlier video, pus pants are pulled tight since she’s raised her leg. There are other shots from around the same time (not same angle) that show pants looking entirely normal.

edit: at 5:52 - you see the same part of her pants and there is 100% nothing there.

I wish I cared enough to do it but I’d bet real money I can find a screen clip of every player at that table from that same video that “looks like something in their pocket”.

It really is amazing how bad people are at employing basic rules or logic. Today’s word of the day is confirmation bias.

By they end of this we will have employed every single logical fallacy ever documented.

Yes like 95%. I’ve seen enough clips of her playing not insanely badly to basically refute the “she has no idea what she’s doing” line of reasoning, and I know there are many different possible cheating methods/strategies and that the combinations of different methods/strategies creates enough permutations that it’s going to be virtually impossible to definitively prove any of them just off the live stream footage.

Given that they didn’t search anyone there, and we have no idea if any evidence was set aside and protected at all (RFID cards, readers, shuffler, etc), I don’t have high hopes of getting definitive proof. Here are the combinations available off the top of my head. Many of these don’t apply in this instance, but the possible combinations are staggering.

Basically any time there’s a cheating allegation from a live stream, these are the lists that investigators would have to consider as they start ruling things out. Meanwhile the poker community will be playing a huge game of Clue. “It was John with the RFID scanner and the hearing aid!”

The community/industry needs to evolve to make these lists shorter.

Possible Cheating Systems in Live Streamed Poker Games:

  1. Infrared Marked Cards
  2. Daub
  3. Fingernail marks
  4. Holecard peaking
  5. RFID scanner
  6. Hacked RFID readers
  7. Hacked shuffle machine
  8. Hacked data feed from table to computer
  9. Hacked software that processes data
  10. Hacked broadcast feed into tape delay hardware
  11. Hacked wifi, if they’re using wifi to transmit anything

(In this specific case I think 2 through 4 are out, and 5 through 11 are the ones to be concerned with.)

Possible Insiders/Accomplices in Cheating Schemes for Live Streamed Poker Games:

  1. Other players
  2. Dealer
  3. Floor
  4. Surveillance
  5. People outside the glass walls who have a sightline to see or communicate
  6. Owners of stream
  7. Production crew on stream
  8. Insiders at RFID card manufacturer
  9. Insiders at RFID reader manufacturer
  10. Insiders at shuffle machine manufacturer
  11. Insiders at graphics software company
  12. Insiders at broadcast software company
  13. Insiders at hardware company for all above hardware
  14. Insiders at casino tech department

(In this case I think 4 is super unlikely, 6 is super unlikely, and 14 is super unlikely.)

Possible Communication Methods:

  1. Hand signals
  2. Chip signals
  3. Gaze direction/eye signals
  4. Posture signals
  5. Other body language signals I’m not thinking of
  6. Coded language
  7. Cellular communication
  8. Bluetooth communication
  9. Bone conduction headphones
  10. Vibrating devices
  11. Electronic buzzing devices
  12. ‘Hidden’ earpiece
  13. ‘Invisible’ hearing aids

(In this case I think 13 is super unlikely.)

And I’m sure those lists aren’t conclusive. All the methods don’t work with all the insiders and all the communication methods, but some could also be done with just 2 of the three or multiple from the same list. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of viable combinations. The fact that that’s the case is pretty much an indictment of how insecurely most of these live streams are run, and it’s been obvious for a while that there will be cheating scandals on them over and over, and there could easily be people cheating them without getting caught for years on end.

If Postle and his accomplice weren’t so greedy and stupid, they could have gone for years without getting caught, and tried to bump up the stakes over time.

Not odd from a cheating perspective. Just an odd interpretation of his stare.

That’s the screenshot from a few minutes later showing pretty much the same spot in her pants. So unless she moved it while on camera, that few screenshot was just showing a weird crease/odd lighting.

Lol case closed.

You are 95% sure but won’t bet. 🤷 I am 99% sure and happy to bet. Already have.

You do know that the fact that cheating can occur is not evidence in any way shape or form that it did right? It’s utterly and completely irrelevant.

Yeah it doesn’t look as bad in the video as the screenshot, it could definitely be a wrinkle or it could be something. It’s hard to say whether 5:52 is higher up her hip or not. If it’s the same area there’s nothing there, but if it’s higher up then it’s irrelevant. Also it could have moved int he 10 minutes since.

For the third or fourth time, I am highly confident she cheated and highly confident there’s not going to be a way to definitively prove it. They let everyone involved go home without searching them! We don’t know if they bagged and tagged the deck! We don’t know if they took that table/readers out of play and secured them! Or the shuffler!

You sure do love bringing up that I won’t bet you while completely ignoring the reasons why I won’t bet on this.

Not your opinion. Well established epistemology and the basis of the philosophies of science and law.

A bunch of bad evidence, no matter how much, never makes good evidence.

The argument is and has been: the hand is super weird and suspicious, some of her immediate statements/behavior are suspicious, and her story has changed a few times. As a result, it should be investigated. The various data points that are noteworthy or suspicious don’t have to add up to anything yet, nor should they. They should all be looked into.

Someone with the footage from all of the HCL cameras and the surveillance cameras can compare 4-5 different angles, uninterrupted, of that screen shot of either wrinkles or an object and likely say with a high degree of certainty whether there was or wasn’t anything there. We have no idea. So we shouldn’t be basing much on it at the moment in terms of evidence she cheated, but the inability to do so also isn’t evidence against her cheating.

Seems like most poker cheaters the last 20 years have been caught by the community throwing out a shit ton of theories ranging from plausible to absurd, as others review the evidence and rule them out or find more supporting evidence.

If on the day the Postle story first broke you said, “They should check the seam of his hat for bone conduction headphones,” you’d probably have been mocked by 90% of the people in this thread. Now that’s what most of us think happened.

I know for sure if I was going to try to conceal an electronic cheating device, skin tight yoga pants would be the way I would do it.
