All I’ve learned from this incident that my long-standing habit of never uttering a word during big hands or after pot is being scooped is probably wise. a lot of this was just because she was talking and talking and talking despite everyone around her telling her it was a really bad idea.
I know somebody who has played with her and he came right out and said it.

I wonder how many times I’ve seen these people in passing and had nfi lol. I play a lot in LA, not that high tho obviously. I have NFI who anyone is in the poker world til this, I don’t care, I just study and play.

I think they’re just very confident there’s no cheating here, but yea, the optics of continuing while there’s an investigation is a bit poor.
I don’t even think their decision to continue is a mistake. Blocking chainsaw was bad though. Instead they could have just responded something to the effect of, “We have enough faith in our system, procedures, and staff that we are very confident in continuing to manage and air our production in the same secure way that we always have. We believe the risks in doing so are miniscule.”

Vertucci was a cop for 20 years, so he probably has gaping blind spots wrt security. Another thing to note, he’s 3rd in winnings all-time on HCL behind #1 Garrett and #2 JRB with +$633k over 153 sessions. He doesn’t want to shut any of this down.

I’ve been spending way too much time staring at Robbi’s ass on the stream and am now leaning towards the idea that the supposed device in her pants is actually some sort of shadow. Does anyone know the time stamp for that image?
A few other questions occur to me. For HCL superfans, how often do they have “unnattractive” women in the lineup? Has anyone been to Hustler? Is it cold in there? Most casinos/poker rooms seem cold, but I think that’s mainly because slots are basically computers that heat up the room massively if you don’t aggressively cool the place, but non-Indian California cardrooms don’t have slots. Do women disproportionately wear revealing clothing on stream and is there the sense that they are encouraged to do so even if the temperature inside makes it impractical?

Those were all under the Microgaming umbrella, right? I lost a decent chunk of cash there and then again with Full Flush a couple years later. Also was involved in the big double or nothing Chinese cheating scandal on Stars, but they eventually made me whole (and then some).
I’ve been a full time online pro since 2004, so probably running lucky to “only” have those stories.

Too many people want to make poker a clean and reputable pseudo-sport that rewards intelligence and math skills. I think poker is better off attracting casuals by leaning into how it is a form of gambling with a dangerous vibe. Poker scandals are good for poker because it gets people interested in poker.
Berkey and Polk are doing a huge disservice by milking this with every silly conspiracy theory for views. It’s so distasteful.
Berkey has totally gone off the deep end. His stream yesterday was an utter embarrassment of awful conspiracy logic where every head move of every player is clear evidence of cheating. I’ve lost all respect for him most among the people who have been covering this.
