Agree it’s not strong evidence either way alone but adds some context.
I think there are very, very few players whose opinion matters for this.
Know so many people who I’d trust for small amounts of money, have transferred/swapped thousands with who have done shitty things to other people for much larger amounts.
When tens or hundreds of thousands or more are on the line shit gets bad.
Do you not agree it’s odd nobody can point to a second hand that is suspect?
For the cheating theory to hold, she would have to have been “caught” on the first hand she tried using it. Possible sure, but has to be taken into consideration.
It’s funny how these things play out and how everyone gets entrenched, including me. I’m pretty convinced Robbi didn’t cheat but in the chess thing I am pretty convinced he did cheat.
Matasow on the far end of “she cheated” further cements my opinion she didn’t cheat.
Cheating can encompass so much though. I’m sure you’ve had to tell dudes you can see their cards before. I’m sure you’ve also had it where they keep being an idiot and flashing you their cards. If you now “take advantage” of that are you cheating? How about if you never told them?
I’ve largely said they weren’t cheating, but I’ve almost impeccably handled myself well at the poker table and not sure I would have done any better than Garrett in this instance.
For sure. I’ve had to tell guys I can see their cards many times. I think if she did cheat here it’s much more likely a poor dealer who was flashing cards or something similar than some kind of electric device or collusion from someone on Hustler team.
Also, I differ from Yuv on my read in Garret. I think he has shown himself a very honourable player and he also just sort of short circuited after being shown j4 and then given an bunch of nonsensical reasons in the moment. I would have handled it no better and likely way worse.
I’d bet he is still a favourite to give the money back.
not sure what it means. i defended his actions here saying i can relate. his statement was awful and the lack of pushback on it saddens me a bit
Ah my bad. I stand corrected.
Ps I hate iOS autocorrect more than trump. Just saying.
Looks like Hendon mob updated - big difference in playing for 1 yr vs 10 years. It’s much easier to believe rich whale just starting poker made this call vs $100 tourney grinder for the last 10 years did
The object in her pants that you can see the outline of, which is pointed out on Only Friends right after the vibrating.
Very easy explanation would be that he wasn’t in on it and took her at her word with no inside knowledge.
Surely you’ve seen players table a hand they misread and be surprised at the revelation they didn’t have what they thought. She gives no such reaction. 10,000+ hours of live poker and I’ve never seen someone react so nonchalantly when finding out they misread their hand while calling all-in. No raised eyebrows, no confused look, no surprised reaction.
Seriously? link to bulge?
Although I’m not convinced she misread her hand - there is one thing that supports it that I haven’t seen discussed.
After the run-out on the first board with pairs the 9, Garrett says that one is you for sure, which she responds I don’t think so. If she thought she had J4 - her comment makes no sense as the 9 doesn’t matter. It does make sense if she thought she had J3 as she just got counterfeited and now loses to any bluffs that have a card higher than J.
Just to be clear, you realize that the chances of whatever is in her pocket being some kind of electronic devise that facilitated cheating rather than somethjng completely innocuous are incredibly small, right?
More importantly having something in your pocket doesn’t constitute evidence of cheating.
Yeah, it’s impossible to cheat on a live stream. That’s why it’s obvious to everyone that Mike Postle was just a genius.
I linked it above. Only Friends podcast on this on YouTube, the shaking is at 2h12m or so, the bulge is right after that.

It looks exactly like the size and shape of a cell phone.
