another great bbv saga was this nl50 grinder who was fairly well respected went on like a 1 million hand Break even or something nuts and BBV determined that it wasn’t anything to do with his play he was actually running bad
sharkscope graphs thread was a gut buster but all the images are dead in that one now. 2006-2009 was such a great time in the poker world.
I recently posted about reading Truestoryteller’s home game thread and I’ve started on WarmDeck’s thread, but the degenning just makes him seem unlikeable. I have a bit of a potential personal project where reading such threads has value, but these do not seem like the kind of people I ever have wanted to hang out with at any point in my life.
BBV at its peak was really just a bunch of young 20 somethings shitposting with way more money than we had any business having, funny stuff can come out of that
The two players I remember were Dynasty and, I think, David Ross. Both seemed like they were targeting a grinder-type life that didn’t seem at all appealing to me, but it was interesting to watch from afar.
I thought I remembered him being a fairly small stakes limit player, but could be wrong. He seemed like a nice and genuine guy making a very odd life choice in his goal to be a full-time pro.
