Poker News and Live Streams - HU4LOLLZ

another great bbv saga was this nl50 grinder who was fairly well respected went on like a 1 million hand Break even or something nuts and BBV determined that it wasn’t anything to do with his play he was actually running bad

sharkscope graphs thread was a gut buster but all the images are dead in that one now. 2006-2009 was such a great time in the poker world.

How does BBV end up being the only board you post on at the start?

I was attracted to the despair and the chaos. I had a few good threads of my own iirc.

I read BBV a ton back in that mid 2000s time frame then moved to the cesspool of BBV4L. Grimstarr comes to mind as a BBV legend.

Sucks that all of the photos in old 2p2 threads are dead, missing some amazing stuff

I recently posted about reading Truestoryteller’s home game thread and I’ve started on WarmDeck’s thread, but the degenning just makes him seem unlikeable. I have a bit of a potential personal project where reading such threads has value, but these do not seem like the kind of people I ever have wanted to hang out with at any point in my life.

yea most of them were probably scumbags

BBV at its peak was really just a bunch of young 20 somethings shitposting with way more money than we had any business having, funny stuff can come out of that

thinking-gif

The two players I remember were Dynasty and, I think, David Ross. Both seemed like they were targeting a grinder-type life that didn’t seem at all appealing to me, but it was interesting to watch from afar.

I feel like I remember David Ross. He was a MTTer right? Used to sweat him a bunch because he always seemed like a nice down to earth guy

I thought I remembered him being a fairly small stakes limit player, but could be wrong. He seemed like a nice and genuine guy making a very odd life choice in his goal to be a full-time pro.

I might be thinking of David Grey?

David Grey is kind of a dink I think, and more known for mixed games? (Although he did final table some tournaments in the boom years.)

Hmmm. Getting old sucks

I believe Grey is known as a stud specialist who played a tight ABC game.

Ooof. Not a good look.

Cliffs?

Can’t believe there’s BBV reminiscing without Joyofpoker or Dan Bright (or Ban Dright).

They are removing a guarantee mid event because a competitor is also hosting a tourney. Basically LOLGTDs

best thing about joyofpoker was all the posters calling him an idiot and questioning his poker ability
