I actually really enjoyed that book because a lot of the advice is like “Oh you get tilted when you start losing? Have you tried not sucking at poker? You might tilt less if you were good. Maybe if instead of working out before you play poker, you studied, that might help more than whatever nonsense you’re trying”

From what I can tell you have to deposit to their site prior to buying in staking. So you can’t just pay when you actually buy the stake. I’m out based on this since I’d be annoyed if I deposited money just to whiff on getting any piece of Negreanu sale.

With inflation being such a major topic, when do people think they’ll end up increasing the WSOP main event buyin from $10k? $10k when the WSOP originated is roughly $75k in 2022 dollars, so they are way behind on inflation.

I’m in the Dominican Republic and found a game at the hard rock. It’s like the Galapagos Islands where there haven’t been any predators for centuries so no creature had to evolve. It’s like the last 10-20 years of poker theory never happened. I even saw the minraise pre into “fuck it it’s the end of the night I’m all in” with pocket kings move. Which is a true fish classic that I never thought I’d see again. I got raised once in a 6 hour session and it was when someone flopped a set and let me get away from my aces super cheap. Considering moving here right now :)

I got paid similarly the other night by a 9 high flush on a QQQA4 board. This wasn’t in a tourist trap, just a busy Fri night playing 200nl at the local casino.

As long as they can handle the capacity they don’t need to change it.
$10k is perfect for what it is even with inflation. Maybe in 5 years if inflation stays this high they could bump it to $15k without losing the fish/shot takers that are regular people and not just rich whales.
His tweet is awful but it doesn’t surprise me. I enjoy his poker content but don’t really want to give my attention to someone who holds and amplifies hurtful views like this. He keeps at it with other tweets, too.
He probably weighs the same as she does.
The reason why I hate Doug is that he was the anti poker player’s poker player for years, made us all realize that being a famous poker player is stupid, and then he became one himself to shill his poker training site. Like there is no way he gives a shit about any of this and he’s always tweeting about whatever is trending.
I definitely get that vibe.
