Basically yea. Lot of people playing on credit as well. Knowing the agent is important. I mostly play on private site that is mixed games. I meet with agent for cash or we use an app. My main worry is I highly doubt there is any security against collusion.
You need an agent. I am not one but could put you in touch with one I have known for 10 years(w rakeback through him). The agent handles all of your monetary transactions.
How do any fish ever join if shit is that complicated? That’s why I’m loving pokerstars PA, it’s literally just an app connected to FOXbets sportsbetting app that gets advertised on tv and you can deposit from PayPal lol
I think there was desire to take PLO/8 talk to this thread, so:
As a live cash game player who does try to play PLO/8 and Big O whenever I have a chance, I will comment on this.
The stack sizes don’t seem that outrageous to me. $400 at those stakes would be the equivalent of sitting with $5000 at a 5/5 game. That’s being up by a nice amount if you bought in for $500-$1000, but not surprising if you are in for $3000-4000.
I am not enthusiastic about a hand like 8s5c4c2c in this game. An ace is a key card in this game. Most of your playable hands will contain an ace, and a suited ace at that. I also consider having three to a suit to be a major boner-killer, especially when you will have problems value-betting on a high-only board if you make a flush.
That doesn’t mean the hand is inherently unplayable. You can get away with playing weak hands in position, for cheap, against bad opponents. This hand would be acceptable on the button in a game that is passive preflop. We are not OTB and the stack sizes make me suspect that there is a decent amount of preflop three-betting in this game. Marginal hands shrivel up in value in games that are very aggressive preflop and you should tighten up in those games.
I’ve been a .25/50, .50/1, and 1/2 6-max PLO player for some time and just had my biggest single session post Black Friday. Was only planning on playing 4 hours, but was sun running so hard that I kept going and played 10. Also helped that there were a couple guys seemingly trying to give away money, which you didn’t see often pre-corona. Just checked my records from all of 2018-2020 and it’s 40% better than my previous record! Of course I gave about 50% of it back as the poker gods took revenge, but there’s money to be made out there gents! Get grinding, be safe, and stay calm through the wilder than normal swings.
I kicked ass at PLO pre black friday. One guy flipped out and went and sat at $5/$10 and dared us to play him. I sat and took $2000 off him. He thought he could use any combos and eventually asked me if I was cheating. The railbirds all laughed at him and he left.
It’s crazy how quick people are to throw out “you’re a bot/house player/cheater” these days. Also, sadly the n-word as an insult now that Trump’s normalized racism.
Freeroll. 500 entries. Top ten get an entry into another tournament. How many tickets should a good player win on average if can enter 100 of them?
I got back into online multitable no limit hold them tournaments when the quarantine started, thinking there would probably be a lot of fish playing and omg it’s lit. it’s lit-er than black friday pokerstars. i’m talking about bovada, idk about the other ones. the nightly $55 gets $80k+ prizepools on weekdays. last sunday the $162 150k guaranteed had like a 400k prizepool. maybe with sports betting impossible the sports bettors are playing tourneys idk and idc it’s all anonymous i’ll never figure it out. but literally i’m not exaggerating it’s the worst poker i’ve seen since like way before black friday.
like imagine playing a poker tournament for 3 hours, and you have 10bbs in the sb with 82o. mid position min-opens, and you call. big blind jams, mp folds, and you call off your stack with 82o. just imagine being that person. idk where i’m going with this.
anyway you guys should try it, it’s fun. and i picked up some good new tips since i restarted:
-
if you’re all in preflop and you’re behind, just think in your mind, “no ___” and just think of the dominating card in the the hand that’s beating you. you’ll win like, more of the time than you should.
-
if the big blind busts last hand and there’s a dead small blind the current hand, utg has to minraise open any two cards no matter what
-
jackpot sngs are swingier than regular sngs

If I imagine being this person, there’s a 20% chance I’m dead because I forgot how to breathe.
i like that the chat on bovada is limited to a small set of nice positive possible chats. i used to be extremely abusive in the chatbox so i’m glad i don’t have to do that, plus i feel like this great idea is kinda thanks to me, in a way
One day pre BF on FTP I had a nearly empty account as it was I believe just after exams in April. Had about $200 in the account. Played some .10/.25 and ran well, probably tripled the br in under an hour. Moved up to shallow or cap .5/1 tables, made another few hundred. Then I noticed a whale on the 3/6 shallow tables. Buyin for these games back then was 20-40bb, so $120-240 for a 3/6 game I believe. I buy in to all 4 tables with the whale. A number of hours later I have between $3600 and $3800 on all 4 tables, and 13.6k in my account at the end of the day. Still my best cash day ever.
But how much did you lose?
Damn. What you gonna do about it?
Quite the dilemma. It’s the softest plo I’ve ever seen and the players are horrendous. There’s also nothing else to do. It’s also rigged. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
I dont trust that/those apps. It’s like Worm is dealing.
That stuff happens less often to me in live PLO because players will actually sometimes fold middle set to me on the flop (or turn).
Also, your opponent had backdoor diamonds and a backdoor straight draw, so he had twice the equity against you than he would have had with set over set in hold em, so thinking of it as being one-outed is not completely accurate.
Thank you for mansplaing PLO to me. I’ve only played 2/5 and 10/25 live for over a decade.
Then why is your reaction that it is rigged for action? Seems pretty normal PLO to me.
