So there’s all kinds of records that were obviously deleted in a cover-up and an investigation into what happened there will take what, at least 12-15 months? GOP takes House, dissolves J6 committee and we’re left in the dark with “we will follow the facts and the law wherever they lead” from the DoJ as more and more statutes of limitations expire.
If seven years is the worst consequence anyone faces for Jan. 6, then you can expect a coup attempt every time a republican loses an election.
Did they use bleach and acid wash so not even God could read them?
Some of these people were attempting to execute congresscritters and/or Pence and overthrow the democratically elected government.
I’m not really for locking people up in most cases but giving these people fairly light sentences across the board is crazy. My first case as a criminal defense attorney 10 years ago was a black guy pulled over leaving a bbq with a tiny amount of cocaine on him. He ended up taking a plea deal that had him taking a conviction and a 5 or 10 year suspended prison sentence(don’t remember exactly). No it wasn’t his first rodeo but acting like jailing these people for what will probably amount to a couple years on average is totally fine is insane based on the realities of our criminal justice system.
Shit like that is why I made it less than 2 years in that line of work before bailing for my own sanity.

Theoretically the DOJ takes all this over and takes it to conclusion.
I give zero fucks what any of these disposable MAGA footsoldiers get sentenced with. As long as Trump skates free, it’s a green light to every future Republican presidential candidate who wants to take a shot at overturning an election. These MAGA yokel chumps could all get 20 years and it won’t deter Trump or DeSantis.
