‘No Way To Prevent This,’ Says Only Nation Where This Regularly Happens - Gun Violence in America

The most surreal part of the manifesto is the end where he gives out advice and helpful tips for future mass shooters.

The only thing the West Wing got right was nazi terrorism

Even with a 900% spike in aviation related deaths in 2018, it only reached 500ish.

In 2017, there were a total of 59 deaths attributed to airline accidents. In 2018, there were 561

So if you are trying to equivocate these as anywhere comparable in scope and effect then you are completely removed from reality.

Except for gun violence you fucking hack. Thats the only thing that ISNT down since the 90s. Now why the fuck do you think that is?

Last night on FB, a friend of a friend posted that the answer is obviously that everyone should be forced to carry. Then danced on the graves of the El Paso victims well posting ‘get trumped!’ repeatedly.

If you need a license to drive a car or own a business might be a good idea to need one to own a gun.

Lol I’d be willing to bet I have one of the most conservative leaning views on gun control on this entire forum and even still that whole thing enraged me, thanks for moving out of here.

What a fucking country man. Had a conversation with the wife yesterday about the Walmart shooting and she had to explain there was a different one in TX. This morning I mention the mass shooting from last night and had to clarify it was in OH. She thought I wasn’t paying attention to her when she said TX yesterday. Nope. ANOTHER ONE. (Don’t also forget the Garlic Fest in CA).

I can’t even get on an airplane without taking off my shoes and getting my junk x-rayed but for some reason “thought and prayers” are all we can do for these.

From a BBC article:

The shooting refreshed calls for gun control in the US but Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton said it would probably not have stopped the attack.

He added that if a “crazy” gunman launched such an attack, there was no way that law enforcement officers could be there to stop it, telling CBS News: “The best way is to be prepared to defend yourself.”

Interesting: more accidental shootings than defensive ones. So even if only the good guys had guns, it might still be a net negative. (And that’s being generous assuming all of those “defensive” shootings were really necessary.)

Police say the Dayton shooter’s sister was among those he killed.

Seems they moved onto video games as the cause again.

It’s as if they are in lock step with their talking points, almost like it’s rehearsed.

Debate Moderator: Prominent Republicans are calling for video game reform after the mass shooting in El Paso. What is your response?

Person Who’s Going to Win the Nomination: My response to those Republicans is simple. What the fuck is wrong with you? I apologize for the language but some things are so stupid, so beyond comprehension, and so detrimental to our safety as a society that they warrant strong language. Video games did not kill 20 people in El Paso, a white nationalist carrying an AR-15, fueled by the hateful rhetoric of Donald Trump did. We’ve got to call out this hated, we’ve got to ban assault weapons first and foremost, and we’ve got to end the carnage.
