Same level of popularity and perhaps slightly lower with Dem primary voters. Gay privileged/successful white men are barely oppressed enough in 2019 to be a minority group. Yes I know some gay men get killed every year by homophobes. Other than that it’s a non issue. And after the baby boomers die off a little more gay white men will literally just be white men.
EDIT: Even better than straight white men in some ways. Imagine getting two male salaries in one household. That’s a LOT of money compared to the median household.
Would he get as much media coverage if he weren’t the token gay dude?

What I might add to this discussion is that I, too, would find it rather unsettling having teachers armed. Children can be annoying cheeky brats; in my opinion it’s just a question of time before some teacher would lose their nerve and pull the trigger.

You have to remember that the politicians who want teachers armed all went to ritzy private schools. The idea that stressed-out, underpaid public school teachers might accidentally/intentionally blast a student never crosses their mind.
