I’m glad they’re doing this. If it’s as simple as making the rule, why wasn’t this done long before? Not asking to complain, more worried that it’ll get struck down
I often think about a local story - a New Hampshire police chief came home from work. Took his gun out, put it ON TOP of his gun safe.
The teenage son of his girlfriend took the gun and killed himself.
The chief was charged with negligently storing the gun. A judge found him not guilty.
He still has his job as Chief of Police.
This was developed from the gun bill passed 2 years ago.
Well armed militia.
This is so sad. Fucking guns + FoxNews brainworms.
Uber has banned the account of the individual who ordered Hall’s Uber to Brock’s house, the company said. Authorities believe that individual was either the original scam caller or an accomplice, according to the release.
Well thank goodness! No more rides for you buddy! Actions have consequences.
THAT’S SOCIALISM!
Totally normal stuff right here.
Another edition of one of America’s favorite stories: It’s A Tragedy When White People Get Treated Like Black People.
I have zero sympathy for these people. It’s quintessential Americans thinking their laws apply everywhere cause ‘Mercia
The dude had two bullets in his bag, it was clearly just a mistake and not some douchebag carrying bullets with him because it’s allowed in the US.
I’m sure the same crowd that was comfortable with Brittney Griner doing 10 months in a Russian prison will be fine with white dudes getting the same treatment.
Am I allowed to have a little pot in my bag cause it’s legal in Canada? Of course not.
Not a gun person at all, but accidentally leaving bullets in your luggage? Seems to be a pretty goofy mistake. Not one that deserves 12 years in prison, but how does one do that? I pack my carry-on meticulously, as space is limited and I want to bring a lot of items, but ammunition is not one of them.
This argument is ridiculous because you are implying that you should go to prison for having a little pot on you because of a stupid law
I know a guy that left a bullet in a hunting jacket in one of the pockets.
You probably wouldn’t get 12 years, and they obviously should get punished. 12 years seems excessive.
There’s no mens rea in this crime
I’m not arguing the law is good or bad. I’m arguing it’s a law of another nation and I see no reason Americans should be exempt. Just like Canadians are not exempt when travelling places where pot isn’t legal. When you travel you are subject to the laws of that nation. It’s not that complicated. The only reason this is a story is because some Americans are somehow shocked this simple fact applies to them.
The length of the punishment is dumb but that’s not what I’m arguing.
