Ah gotcha. I was thrown off by the thumbnail.
Well, I guess a bright side is that everyone in Texas has the same rights to kill people as cops.
Our gun laws will continue to create all kinds of absurd scenarios where people are shooting each other but no crime is actually committed. I think we will see a proliferation of these events.
Something that I considered with the Kyle Rittenhouse situation, is what would have happened if there had been legions of armed protestors and counter-protestors? Presumably once someone shot someone (perhaps in justifiable self-defense), then someone else would have been in their rights to shoot that person if it was reasonable to believe that person would then shoot someone else, and then someone would be justified to shoot that person, and so on and so forth. You could have basically an armed battle in the streets where minimal charges could actually be brought.
That’s literal insanity. A person with a broken brain came up with that subsection. They are FLEEING. They are not, nor have any ability to be an imminent threat. We are allowing street justice executions for crimes that will get less than a year in prison. Its a sign of a mentally ill populace.
We are 100% heading to a Boston Massacre type scenario in our lifetime, but instead of it being between british and americans, it will be between left and right protestors.
With the cops on the side of the right wing protesters. I think we can assume who is getting massacred in that scenario.
Through a series of events, my “friend” managed to screw me out of $230. Can I shoot him?
Oh yeah if she shoots a little white girl he’s behind bars for life. Probably gets the chair if she’s blonde.
The Purge period only lasts for 5 minutes from when you first realized he screwed you. So no.
Unless you’re a cop. Then you can mow down people, sorry, I mean perps, 24/7.
There’s nothing weird about it, you can buy anything in America. The NRA spent a lot of money cementing that “aura of passivity.”
Wait, really? I didn’t read the article, but I would have backed up the truck on white shooter.
It appears that our laws are working as designed:
On Oct. 8, the 19-year-old Harris tried to buy a weapon from a licensed dealer in St. Charles, Mo., but an FBI background check “successfully blocked this sale,” St. Louis police said Friday in a news release shared with The Washington Post.
Police did not say why the FBI had flagged Harris. The FBI did not immediately respond to a message from The Post.
After being refused by the licensed dealer, Harris bought the AR-style rifle he used during the rampage at Central Visual and Performing Arts High School from a private dealer who had legally purchased the weapon in 2020, police said. Police did not identify the person. Harris died Monday in a gunfight with police.
“There is no existing law which would have prevented the private sale between the original purchaser and the suspect in this case,” police said.
Was gonna say I thought the UVA murders would have been more spoken of here
I started the topic in the college football thread, since the victims are all football players.
Y’all should try to limit the mass homicides to the one thread, as opposed to having specialist victim threads IMO. Though that time may come, unfortunately.
