I actually did archery in PE, that’s a kind of shooting.

Not sure how much firearms training they get, but the film shows the students playing the role of officers during simulated drug busts and active shooter scenarios.
Why aren’t there more home school shootings?

Wrong. The good students are useless with firearms because they always have their noses stuck in dork books learning useless crap like how to identify facts and reality. You want a bad student with a gun.

The kids filming are lucky the cops didn’t mistake the phone in their hand for a gun. Must have been white.
I was wondering that, too. Maybe they had their phones in a pocket with the camera sticking out or something. Or maybe they held it up very obviously for the cops to see (also likely white in that instance).
Mass stabbing at a Pittsburgh high school in 2014. 21 stabbed not including the stabber. All survived.

I love how the cops first priority in any news conference is to pat themselves on the back for their response.

Hundreds of these conversations happen every time there’s a shooting. We have an entire generation of traumatized families.
Turns out my niece goes to that high school but fortunately was on a field trip when the shooting happened.
Still undoubtedly going to create trauma.
We are insane and horrible humans.

Shelby County Schools, the Calera Police Department, and the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office are jointly investigating a school shooting threat that has been circulating on social media in the Calera community along with various other communities within the Shelby County School District. This same threat is circulating in some surrounding school districts as well. While the social media post mentions details of an event that allegedly will occur on Wednesday, October 27, the exact school location is marked out and not specifically identified in the threat.
We want our parents to know that this threat is being taken seriously. The safety and security of our students and staff is a top priority, therefore extra security precautions will be in place tomorrow at all Shelby County school locations.
They sent this update later:
UPDATE: Law enforcement officials have determined that a school shooting threat that was circulating on social media in various Shelby County communities earlier today is not a credible threat to any Shelby County school. The Snapchat post originated outside of the state and variations of it have circulated across the country.
Out of an abundance of caution and to help reassure our community, we have asked for increased police presence where possible and will operate under a “Heightened Awareness” status tomorrow.
