I remember when I was told by a friend of mine that Chris Nolan was the ultimate Bond fanboi before he got famous in an annoyingly so way (incessantly talked about it). Then, when offered a Bond film, he turned it down. FANBOI.

This sucks so bad. What a waste of talent. I hate that every great director gets sucked into these stupid franchise series that all suck. Bah humbug.

I would very much like to see a Denis Villenueve Bond picture. You might be surprised.

Sounds like a meta movie

Here’s hoping, but removing Fincher from that equation is not a small thing.

I can’t decide if I’m intrigued or enraged. :winking_face_with_tongue:

I’m sure it will be good for a bond film but I couldn’t care less about the 35th bond film. There is not a single interesting thing to do with that character. I hate it because we get one less original film from him. It’s a real shame imo.

Sorkin as writer/director tho?? He will deliver. I loved Molly’s Game. I hope Jesse Eisenberg returns.

Me too. One of the few directors who could do something compelling with the franchise. I’m not gonna rush to see it, but I’m hoping for the best. He did great with BR2049.

Seems impossible if he doesn’t right? No way they can recast this and have it play even remotely well.

Maybe they do some kind of Air deal but instead of never seeing Jordan we never see Zuck.

Yes, a director/writer combo that is significantly less compelling than Fincher/Sorkin. Molly’s Game was good. Trial of the Chicago 7 was decent. I haven’t seen Being the Ricardos because of how widely panned it is. Shrug.

I hope it’s good.

I don’t remember Being the Ricardos being terrible (Though I don’t remember it being anything special either).

I also liked Molly’s Game. You’re probably more positive on Trial of the Chicago 7 than I was.

Ya I think Sorkin is S tier writer but as a director I’m not convinced yet.

I confess I haven’t seen Being the Ricardos. What do you mean it was panned? 68% on RT. Glowing reviews. Nominated for Academy Awards as well as at the Golden Globes. Now I wanna see it!

Right. I thought Trial was kinda bad.

People insist on citing RT when the movie is more than a week old. It’s a leak every time. It gets a 3.0/5 average on LB, 6.5/10 on IMDb, ā€œpannedā€ probably overstates the matter but my intentions to follow through and watch it always run into dampened enthusiasm when I see people actually talk about it.

I barely remember it, honestly. I remember kind of enjoying it, hence ā€œdecent.ā€ I’m definitely not raving. I remember it being the movie that was apparently drawing live to upset boring-ass Nomadland at that year’s Academy Awards, and I was left to get behind it temporarily by default.

I have absolutely no defense to make of it outside of recalling that it was the much more watchable movie between the two that seemed to have any chance at getting the trophy.

Now hold on. I gave more sources than just the RT score. Don’t make me bring out some review quotes :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:
