Will it piss anyone off if I say I haven’t seen any of these?
Fast Times and Say Anything are unforgivable slips. Truly great movies.
The best way to experience The Breakfast Club is actually the music video.
When were you born?
Some of you people are just bad at 80’s teen movies. The following are all awesome:.
Ferris Bueller’s Day Off
Fast Times at Ridgemont High
Some Kind of Wonderful
Sixteen Candles
The Breakfast Club
Revenge of the Nerds
All the Right Moves
Taps
(Edit: How could I forget) Can’t Buy Me Love
Yeah this is really good. One of my faves
Pretty in Pink is easily better than Sixteen Candles.
I debated on that. Included bases on personal feelings.
Sadly, only one of these has the teens die in a blaze of gunfire
If you’re unaware, Some Kind of Wonderful is an absolutely direct remake of Pretty in Pink because he didn’t like the ending. Molly refused to do it so she never got another call from Hughes for a movie.
Hard disagree but Sixteen Candles has so many problems your opinion could work if Pretty in Pink wasn’t such a mean spirited movie. If you haven’t seen it in a while your opinion may change.
With the biggest psycho becoming the biggest movie star since then. Still also the biggest psycho.
I saw them both for the first time 2-3 years ago. Enjoyed one, hated the other.
I could see not liking Ferris Bueller if it was first viewed now. I might even find the antagonist sympathetic; he’s chasing a narcissist sociopath and trying to give him his first taste of consequences which he always manages to evade through sheer charisma.
Did you identify more with Andrew or Jon? That really determines how PiP is received.
As a modern viewed piece of art SC is disgustingly on many levels. At the time, a lot of the things that happened in that movie were normal (Hollywood of that era was very bad like Epstein bad). As a movie and being close in age to Hall I liked it at the time but it’s a hard watch today. TBC is also a hard watch today but it is still good.
Gummy bear?
I don’t remember much, honestly. I just remember watching Pretty in Pink and going, “Oh! Molly Ringwald did more than just Breakfast Club that was worth watching.” And then I did Sixteen Candles next and went, “Welp.”

Also I’ve never seen Ferris Buller.
It’s a little odd you’re 0/8 in that list, but I’ve got so many gaps in my movie viewing to give anyone shit.
(Except for @CanadaMatt3004 and his absurd commitment to never seeing The Godfather)
It’s even more maddening that he loves Goodfellas and The Sopranos, so it’s not as though there’s a reason he wouldn’t like The Godfather if he gave it a proper viewing.
But I’ve given up on him.
Alright, I followed your recommendation and watched The Fire Within. I’m still digesting, I thought it was at least decent, but I don’t think I liked it as much as Elevator to the Gallows.
