I barely remember Molly’s Game (though I liked it and would watch it again), but I will grant that the whole Tobey Maguire section of Babylon is the biggest thing I associate with that movie - which has some VERY high highs - being utterly bloated. If I mention “the Tobey Maguire part” of that movie, I’m always doing it with derision. I like that movie overall, but still.
I don’t think of him as a bad actor though.
Wonder Boys was kind of a bust for me that I had strong hopes for. Can’t say I remember it at this point though; just saw it the one time when it was new and came away feeling disappointed. I see that it got pretty solid reviews, so perhaps middle-aged me should revisit it.

Michael Caine loves acting, he’s probably doing it for fun and he doesn’t give a damn about the money or if the movie’s any good.
lol Michael has only been interested in money almost his entire career. He’s the original Nicolas Cage or Kevin Hart but probably closer to Kevin Hart. He’s literally one of the greatest actors ever and has never used any choosing discretion whatsoever.
Maybe it has a great script tho. I’d hope so anyway. It doesn’t have to be Jaws Revenge just because he’s in it.
