Movies (and occasionally face slaps) (Part 2)

I aslo had GBU on my list until this year.

Its awesome, and I tend to really dislike westerns.

Its also incredibly funny, which is something I didnt expect at all.

High high recommend from me

I see that youve seen Your Name. Its on my ā€œWant to watch but has never streamed for freeā€ list. How much should a guy who really hates to pay for movies pay to rent it?

One of the best musical scores Iā€™ve ever heard too. Morricone was elite.

No kidding, every thing that happens in that movie soundwise is incredible, down to the foley

Itā€™s tedious and boring AF imo. Easily the most overhyped movie every for me and I think it will age poorly. Not saying you shouldnā€™t watch it though I suppose.

I liked it decently enough. But also as a guy who also hates to pay to rent Iā€™m not sure I would.

Lol Joker at 80. Fuck you, list. What an awful movie

Also the Thing at 153 is absurd, and Halloween and They live not on there at all is just smh

I cannot fathom that I have spent time in the past hour hearing about what I havenā€™t seen from someone who has not watched the Godfather movies.

Wait, what?

Maybe I just donā€™t like Carpenter because i found The Thing and Escape from NY very meh, watched both of them recently. Big fan of Halloween though.

Yeah I know shut up. Its on my list.

I reallllly dislike mob media though (Sopranos was ok but doesnt crack my top shows list, and Goodfellas is the only mob movie Ive actively liked) so Ive always been very averse to it

Also imo while hard to imagine Back to the Future II and III being even better, being familiar with the westerns they reference adds a certain non so cosa.

I can understand Escape not being for everyone, but im slightly shocked about The Thing.

Iā€™m more amazed that this is the first time weā€™re both hearing about this fact.

How has this not come up in the 2+2 wrestling forum at some point in the past decade?

I am not huge fan of Escape From NY either. Maybe I was just a little too late to experience the zeitgeist. I saw the sequel in theaters (1996) and enjoyed it quite a bit, but not enough to have rewatched it more than once since then.

If youā€™re watching old horror stuff, you should check out The Serpent and the Rainbow

I really donā€™t know. This is mind-blowing.

Holy shit shorten the list. The list now has two movies on it.

Iā€™m trying to figure out what it is youā€™ve even watched and disliked. The exalted pantheon of mob movies is not that big. I guess maybe stuff like Casino or A Bronx Tale?
