It was actually THE favorite that year. I donāt know what the exact odds were, but Spotlight winning shocked a lot of people.
Okay, well thatās crazy. Yes, Spotlight is the much, much better film and would have been my pick that year to win among a strong field.
Iāve never even heard of this! Guess I know what I am watching this weekend. Itās the only film listed so far I havenāt seen.
Itās definitely good and worth watching. I donāt have it on the level that eyebooger does, but still.

Man the first movie that pops into my mind whenever this comes up is Birdman. And looking at these lists I still feel good about that.
Thatās a rough list to not even include Best Picture winner The Artist in the top 250. Every list I keep looking at shows me how underwhelming movies overall have been in the 21st century. I also havenāt seen very many of them either.

I hope you connect with it on rewatch. I had a similar disconnect the first time, but the second and third times, I watched it with the same obsessive interest as There Will Be Blood.

Wow one of these sticks out as so different than the rest, in a million years if you gave me the rest of the list I wouldnāt have guessed it was the missing one.

Trying to guess which one youāre talking aboutā¦could be āSouthland talesā (one of those Iām scared to revisit although i watched it repeatedly 15 years ago) or "The Descent " (most people think itās āonlyā good or very good, i think itās one of the best horror movies ever) ?
