It can be a daunting task going against your seemingly instant indefatigable multi-quote barrages. I know you don’t mean it as a debate tactic, you’re just a super prolific passionate poster who can apparently type 120wpm. ;) But I could see where someone might get frustrated in the heat of the moment.
Before acting on that conclusion why don’t we give nun a week or two to change? People find value in his posting and maybe reinforcing that fact will make it easier to let go of things when he is being disagreed with?
Cuse, I know you said you feel a responsibility to respond to nun so that lurkers will know his views are challenged, but would you be willing to put him on ignore for a trial period (3-4 days) and then evaluate whether or not you think there was sufficient pushback to his posts after the fact?
“First response” is probably incorrectly stated. “First formal disciplinary response” or “first software-enabled response” better describes what I’m trying to get at.
You are asking for people to give him another week or two on top of what for some of them has already been YEARS of trying to work this out. I agree with you in principle but this isn’t like the first time this has happened. He’s been given the benefit of the doubt over. And over. And over. Accept him as he is. When someone tells you who they are, listen.

This is a political discussion forum. Anyone who pushes back hard on nunn’s posts gets berated and eventually ignored. As a result we look bad if we keep responding, and we’re told to leave him alone.
This allows him to silence all criticism of his posts, which gives him exactly what he wants and defeats the entire purpose of a political discussion forum.
We’re about to make the entire forum a safe space for nunn to fire off his posts with no criticism allowed.
To be completely honest I don’t want nunn contained or banned either guys. I have mostly tried to engage him as I would anyone else since he came back. I apologized for what I had done to previously escalate things. I never got an apology for the way he has treated me. Then the first time I disagree with him on anything he is back to calling me an immoral untrustworthy person with blood on my hands in the bailout thread. Asking for any mod action is literally a first on 22 or here. I only do it because nothing else has worked and a good portion of the forum is fed up. When 40% want you contained that is pretty bad even if it isn’t actionable. Most of us probably poll under 10% on that.
I don’t care if he ever gets what he deserves I just want it to stop. To be honest seeing so many people casually give approval to the behavior and act like somehow nunnehi will ever stop if the people rightfully complaining just stop wearing short skirts or don’t go down the dark alley is fucked up

I still don’t see why we can’t do cooling off temp-bans. 1) It lets them cool off. 2) It serves as a deterrent to getting too worked up in the future.
It worked great for me on old 2p2 pol. Really makes you think about your life choices when you’re 45 years old, pulling over to furiously type out a post on your phone, then get temp-banned on your way into work.
The post right above this does not make it seem like any lessons have been learned.

The fact that YOU don’t think something is condescending does not make it so, especially when others read condescension in your posting style. Whatever it is or whatever you wanna call it - maybe tone it back. If you wanna charge ahead with the whole “imma be me, fuck the h8rz” well, that’s your prerogative, I’m just saying it doesn’t make you a particularly sympathetic character. I say this because you seem kind of mystified about how this conversation is even taking place at all.
It’s true, you have no idea of the history. Having this guy talk about me like this after what he did to me is beyond the pale, seriously. He will not even talk with me, he has me on ignore in this thread despite me asking him to engage me multiple times. He’s a mod. I tried to engage him about his issues with me but he won’t. He ghosted me.
Just so you’re all aware, RiskyFlush is the reason I quit this site. When he turned on me here and just ghosted me when I wanted to have a discussion with him, it made me very sad. If you lose him you don’t have anyone. He’s siding with the abusers now and calling me the abuser and saying I can’t be trusted. This is really something. It’s a really disturbing turn in the thread, especially for a mod.
