I would change my vote to abstain if he can verify that he is raids. Not that I approve of raids on two plus two, I have never interacted with him there.

I’m not a mod and have no power to ban Anach. I’m just trying to get a feel for how the forum feels. Personally, I can hardly read a couple threads because of the handful of people who don’t have him muted and keep feeding the troll. It seems like 25+% of replies in a couple threads are just Anachronistic and people replying to him.
Hating @anachronistic seems 100% like not wanting to deal with a centrist who forcefully defends his beliefs.

He’s been a troll on 2p2 for a decade with more bans and accounts than anyone can keep track of.
I believe this has been brought up because people think he brought his 2p2 nonsense

I have posted this before and, undoubtedly, I will post this again. The single thing that is head-and-shoulders worse than anything else for the viability and enjoyability of a political forum is trolling.
Anachry is undoubtedly a troll and detracts from every thread in which he posts. If his post frequency exceeds a certain level, he makes the thread unreadable (and yes I have him on Ignore). From what I can gather from reviewing his recent posting history, he seems not to have any offsetting redeeming features.
Accordingly, I think he should be banned.

I guess I just don’t understand the complaint that a thread is unreadable.
I’ve had this guy on ignore for a while, but I’m prepared to argue at length that there is a meaningful difference between your (and Marty’s) posts and anachron’s even if they share this quality of shit posting. I’m not persuaded shit posting alone makes them similar enough to be conflated.

FWIW research pretty consistently indicates that group decision-making is optimized via the inclusion of diverse voices.
We become more comfortable when we ban voices that annoy us. I’m not certain we become more enlightened.

You gotta make a distinction here between people that are posting sincerely and people that are trolling. I can’t imagine our decision making ability is being enhanced at all by someone who’s just posting inflammatory stuff to get a reaction.
