That album is so goddamn good. RTL was nowhere near as complex and well produced. AJFA was an attempt to copy it (One aside, which should win this and would slot into Master of Puppets brilliantly). Forget Black Album and after or whatever, the real divide in Metallica’s work is Master of Puppets and everything else.

Regarding this round:

  • Nasty draw for Die, Die My Darling. One of my favorites from Garage Inc. But I can’t go against Enter Sandman.
  • Not a big fan of Unforgiven at all.
  • Dyers Eve deserves so much better. Ugh.
  • Seek and Destroy. Duh.
  • Turn the Page isn’t even good. I Disappear is meh, so that’s where my vote goes.
  • Whiplash/Atlas Rise is like a sweet 16 match-up in the first round. Voted for Atlas because it doesn’t deserve to get obliterated like this.
  • Four Horsemen. Duh.
  • Unforgiven III is probably the best of the Unforgivens, but I love Memory Remains for some reason.

Leper Messiah is trash.
Hardwired is ok but that chorus ruins it for me. Dream No More was pleasant surprise.
