Master3004's Upbeat Walrus - Reveal!

In 11th place, scoring 5 (1,5) King of NY - Dream on by Kelly Sweet

Oh what could have been. I know the note says the good part starts at 1:30, but it takes sooooooooooooooooo long to get there, and I have to judge the song on its entirety.

That being said, as an overall cover, I really like this, but I would much rather have 20 mg of edibles in me and sinking into my couch than dancing at my desk when I have this on.

Got that like back, suck it Master!

Reggae is not generally my thing but I think this song is super fun. But then again I don’t like to dance to Swedish parody metal stuff, so to each its own

In 10th place, scoring 6 (4,2.5) Jalfezeri - She is Beyond Good and Evil by St. Vincent

-1 point for Jimmy Fallon intro.

Some good funk here to get me moving a bit, but overall this wasn’t my cup of team. Just way too talky for my liking. Didn’t know the original but looked it up and yeah this works ok, just kinda meh overall.

@Pauwl sup Dino buddy! Nice pick.

Alright, last entry in the meh category

In 9th place, scoring 7 (3,4) Rivaldo - California Dreaming by the John Mayer Trio

This is one of my favorite songs of all time, and the cover is just…

Meh. Like, I really can’t do much more than that. Its very samey, but not in a good way at all.

Goddamn it John Mayer, why do you have to ruin everything?

@King_of_NY Great pick! Kinda surprised you call this upbeat though? Nonetheless, cool song.

Alright, lets get into some stuff that I at least found kinda fun.

In 8th place, scoring 8 (4,5 -1 for recognizability) Skydiver8 - Higher Ground by The Red Hot Chili Peppers

Pretty safe entry to be honest, and falls into a pretty safe middle of the pack. Moveable, fun, but something I’ve heard far too many times to score much higher.

St. Vincent is such a boss.

In 7th place, scoring 9 (4,5) LouisCypher - A Forrest by Waltari.

Yeah alright. Not super special and takes a little bit to get into, but I for sure got to moving to this a lot more than the original Cure version. Once the lead kicks in I really get into it, its just a litttttttle bit slow to place any higher.

Where should I start? I get that she is talented but have never been able to get into her. I want to!

when master was mia he was getting his goodtasteeotomy procedure finished yeah i said it

In 6th place, scoring 10 (5,5) JohnnyTruant - Sugar Sugar by Bob Marley & The Wailers

I tried to ignore my overall dislike of Reggae and was able to for the most part, which is a testament to the song as a whole.

Marley’s amazing voice is put on full display here. Really fun cover.

And with that, we move into stuff that I liked quite a bit, though again, nothing really blew me away.

In 5th place, scoring 11 (6,6) Mimosa - I get Lifted by KC & The Sunshine Band

I had never heard this cut before, which is strange cause my dad is a huge KC fan, but this is the kind of funk I like. Got me moving quite a bit, though I tacked off a few points as it runs out of steam heading into the 2 minute mark.

In 4th place, scoring 12 (8,6) Suzzer99 - I fought the Law by The Clash

Not much I can say about this outside of I really like it. I had never actually heard this cover before, and its upbeat, dance-able, and a great overall cover.
