If you like David Byrne I would start with their Love this Giant album. Her eponymous album is really good too.
But to me, it’s when she’s live when she’s really the boss.

This would have score high. Living Colour GOAT
IN 3rd place scoring 13 (8,9) Twist - Desolation Row by My Chemical Romance
Oh yeah, now this I like, quite a lot. Its an awesome take on a Dylan classic. Gets the legs moving, gets me pumped. Great submission Twist.
Is it too late to submit Me First And The Gimme Gimmes’ entire discography?
I told ya’ll this was gonna get weird.
In 2nd place, scoring 14 (9,9) Smrk4 I feel good (funk remix) by Scary Pockets?
Originally I had this listed as “Random Internet People” I love it, pure and simple. I thought it might score low on cover score as it seemed pretty straight to begin with, but there is a ton of deviation as it just keeps going and getting better.
Great pull Smrk, ya weirdo.
How fucking funny.
In 1st place, scoring 15 points (10,10) Cassette - Leaving on a Jet Plane by Me First and the Gimme Gimmes’
This is perfect. Its an amazing cover of an amazing song that makes me want to groove from moment 1. I listened to it over and over and it never got old.
ok. see ya in a week
As much as I would love to get to the filthy category reveal, I’ve got a job interview tomorrow and gotta go bone up on the company.
Thanks!
I mean, yeah, they’re legitimately good because they take what they do seriously, when it’d be easy to let it turn into a joke with less discipline.
I guess I just,
That doesn’t mean this will be contained to a single genre. Au contraire, some of my favorite shake your booty songs are from the hard rock genre. But, I am open to almost anything so long as it makes me want to move
miscalculated the venn diagram of ‘booty shaking’ and ‘hard rock’ and ‘almost anything’.
I was wondering which song that beat the mighty Melt Banana would annoy me the most, but, fuck me, words can’t describe how much I hate Me First And The Gimme Gimmes. I’m off to find 6ix and look for the best triggered gifs.
Also, another great reveal, thank you.
WE DON’T CARE ABOUT YOUR FUTURE ECONOMIC STABILITY WE WAN’T A FILTHY REVEAL.
Nice job Master, and good luck with the interview.
Fun reveal last night. Good luck with the interview today, Master!
Was a huge Cure fanboi back in my depressed mid-teen days.
Listen to this live version from back in '81 almost weekly.
clearly missed the memo about the upbeat thing. just looked for something cool that master may not have heard. the other submissions will be more hip wiggle friendly
Fwiw, I never claimed to be a music savant.
I likes what I likes.
Spoiler for category 3:
Pyantinski may or may not have ended up in last place.
I managed a minute of the #1 this time.
I mean it’s clearly not going anywhere that’s not totally predictable and formulaic. The Ramones had the idea 40+ years ago of making their songs ultra-short for that very reason. 20 years later Mr First has the same idea of self-loathing. Genius.
Go and get that job.
