Yeah I don’t think anyone who took video of the larger explosion from that close would be alive to post it/send it out right now, nor do I think the phone would survive it.

Fireworks video seems to be from the roof of the office attached to the silo complex to the west. So putting it all together, they were storing fireworks in the same building as other, much more highly explosive materials in a Beirut port less than a 1/2 kilometer from dense residential areas.
Shocking that somehow this led to tragic disaster.

Canadians will remember this. 9000 wounded and 2000 dead.
15 dead here. Some of the casualties were fire fighters who knew this could happen and were trying to evacuate residents.

That blast sure looked like a lot of explosives to me so I’ll allow the explanation because of confirmation bias reasons.
I don’t really get the Israel angle. If it wasn’t accidental there’s like 900000x higher chance that it’s civil war related.

I’m pretty sure there’s going to be a Civil War now. The government was already verging on collapse.

For the speculation about the origin, here’s a still from the far-away video that was posted upthread. It’s the first moment that the big blast ignites. Seems clearly from the smaller building between the long skinny building and the water, I think ZZ identified it upthread.
Also, that video from up close is fucking horrendous and the dude that recorded it is very likely dead. Fucking hell.
