Major League Baseball (Part 2)

How in the hell do you pronounce that? Joe - Stink - Son?

Still not as good as Brad Gilbert giving pavelenchekova the nickname Scrabble

My favorite nickname right now is still Big Christmas

As much as I love India as a team leader, this is a great trade

:vince4:

well itā€™s a simple trade, depth both sides didnā€™t need, but needed the other thing

itā€™s just both guys are kinda fringe roster guys. Makes more sense for the reds, they didnā€™t really have a spot for india anymore. Singer alternates from being fine/3rd starter type to kind of a bad innings eater. Itā€™s hard to know which version the Reds are getting. Starting pitchers whoā€™s arms are still attached I would say are worth more than a slightly above replacement level India the last few years though. (the other guy was on the brewers in july so the reds donā€™t think anything of him)

Letā€™s hope itā€™s a trade that works out for both teams.

Or if not that, then at least the Royals.

Any idea where Soto will go? I know Boras is his agent and rumors are the Mets will meet any offer and add $50M. Does that stuff even matter once you are set for life? Heā€™s already made $80M in his career. Whatā€™s he gonna buy w/ $600M that he canā€™t buy w/ $550M?

Hitting in front of Judge for 10 years seems +EV to me no matter any other offer. No idea if a guy like Soto thinks that. If he wants to be THE MAN, heā€™s going elsewhere. Heā€™s never gonna be the face or captain of the Yankees as long as Judge is there.

whoever said teams are likely afraid of lighting money on fire like the angels constantly do is probably correct. White hot take but 600 mill for this guy even for 15 years seems nuts. Lots of guys do great til they hit 30-32 and the reaction time slows down and they gotta adapt - or injury besets them like trout - some freaks hit their stride around this time, but if Iā€™m playing couch GM and trying to win a world series, Iā€™m not slamming down half a billy and locking this guy up til potentially well past his prime. Maybe heā€™s a big fan draw, so I could see a team like the blue jays that have money to burn and could use a guy like him to draw fans.

This is what came out yesterday from someone on the bluejays i think

that opt out is oof.

Not sure I can see any team other than The Mets pulling the trigger on that.

Of course with my luck, the fucking Giants will finally blast off on a big name and it will be for some shit contract like that.

Tigers have cap space

Iā€™m a Yankees fan and honestly I donā€™t care if he goes somewhere else. Heā€™s not that good on defense. He stabs at the ball on plays Judge makes routinely.

Snell seemed most believable to me from all the press the last few months. They need starting pitchers somehow with dustin mayā€™s status still somehow unclear (wtf???). Thatā€™s a lot of money though. Probably a death knell in all the absurd soto rumors though. Thereā€™s no cap left for soto after this.

Maybe Elmo will buy the Dodgers and add Soto to save America.

theyā€™re well over the cap, if they arenā€™t in the highest bracket penalty now they gotta be close to it.

I would publicly light myself on fire in front of twitter HQ and you can quote me on that.
