Major League Baseball (Part 2)

He was one of the few prospects that signed super early and it was the right move. Got $10 million contract before he ever made the majors and then proceeded to suck. Shows why it’s so tough for the top prospects to turn down big money (also shows why we’re seeing a rise in guys selling a portion of future earnings and then not signing extensions).

Pretty much as soon as you posted this the terrible plate discipline caught up with him and he fell off a cliff. Pretty hard to be a decent hitter when you are striking out 50% of the time.

:harold:

Ever since Matt Chapman correctly pointed out that Ohtani is the only one that can hit, seems like teams stopped pitching to him and started terrorizing the actual bad players more.

Fuck the Orioles. Would rather see any other team win now.

Angels really improved their consistency with b2b 11-3 losses to the Astros

on king felix to the M’s hall of fame night they gave him the perfect tribute

the starting pitcher goes 9 innings, gives up 0 runs on 3 hits 0 walks

and the mariners lose 1-0 in 10 innings

the oakland A’s everybody oh throw to first base or tag the runner makes an out damn learn something new

Turns out that’s exactly what they did

Yeah that sweep is going horribly.

Angel is a mster of his craft (it’s probably above his projection but i love those few balls down middle)

Bailey steps up and saves what would have been an abysmal loss for the Giants.

Holy shit.

Logan Webb - 8 2/3 5 hits, 6Ks, ND.

Giants walk off 3-2 in the 10th down to their last strike.

Have long felt that any ump whose accuracy is below 95% should be suspended or fired. Angel has been atrocious for years. If we can’t get robo-umps for calling the strike zone, at least take away some of the bad umps influence by setting a threshold they need to pass.

He’ll call high shit a strike and low down the chute a ball. Did it last week too. At least he’s consistently bad right now with it?

and here angel sued mlb because he thought it was discrimination he didn’t get enough of the plum umpiring postseason stuff

no you should’ve been fired 20 years ago but baseball umpires have the best union ever apparently

This stat is absolutely bonkers

“For the 21st time in his past 34 starts, the Giants failed to provide Webb more than two runs before he exited the game.”

Hes the new Matt Cain/Tim Lincecum

This from Big Time Timmy Jim’s wiki.

" Lincecum’s so-so win–loss record was largely due to his receiving the worst run support in the major leagues; the Giants scored no runs in ten of his outings and scored two runs or fewer in 21 of them, making Lincecum one of only six pitchers in modern major league history to have at least 200 strikeouts, an ERA of less than 2.75, and a losing record.[71]"

I remember Jacob DeGrom having a similar problem on the Mets.

“Guys, DeGrom’s pitching! No need for run support today!”

2018 Degrom 10-9 record with a 1.7 ERA in 200+ IP, absurd.

well I’ve seen a few different stories on this one already as to what this all is

maybe one of them is actually true

Cliffs: Mookie Betts is in the on-deck circle and a fan tells him he’ll give his baby the middle name “Mookie” if he hits a homer. Betts does it, fan does it.
