It’s been coming. They signed a super shady 20 yr deal a few years ago that should have ppl go to jail

Does this allow them to get out of that deal?

Alphonso Davies for cash considerations? Who says no???

No idea, but without getting out of it they’re just screwed for decades.

They basically gave away all future profit for short term cash to fund the CPL

Huge if true.

It’s crazy out west. @clovis8 is going to take all of the CPP $ away.

Locally we are about to have a left wing government at least, and the first indigenous premier in Canadian history. This is because our current leader is an absolute piece of shit.

My province is a lost cause nationally. Sadly nationally we are also looking at a blue wave which will be fucking awful.

We are exactly where the US was in 2015. A bland centrist-but-probably-fine-in-the-grand-scheme-of-things Federal government is going to get stomped by a MAGA candidate that claims that the SOCIALISTS are responsible for all their personal failures and rainy days and the failure of a Canadian team to win the Stanley Cup and our social media environment is now a thriving Deplorable hellscape. Arguably it’s even easier for our fascist twerp to win because even to the extent that many Canadians can be made to see the danger of believing in conservative lies, many of them will back the NDP in hopes of a more left wing populist response.

South of the border, blue waves are great. Not sure why we do it that way. It’s like our political version of the metric system.

It is odd we are reversed. Not sure which came first. I think us as they are the long standing colours of the two parties here.

Liberal red
Conservative blue
Ndp orange

The current US color scheme wasn’t standard until after 2000.

I’m pretty sure most of the rest of the world is conservative=blue, liberal=red.

Didn’t the US parties switch the spectrum a while back? Think that’s the reason that red and blue are backward.

Could be. Certainly seems plausible.

It was a very long time ago. Approx 60 to 80 years depending on when you think the flip happened.

This is what the Manitoba PCs have been reduced to.

lol this is the best thing I’ve seen in some time.

It’s also likely pretty ineffective. If someone has enough of a conscience that they would feel bad voting conservative if people were watching, they wouldn’t want to vote conservative anyway. Conservatives in 2023 are proud of their ignorance and their hate, they aren’t hiding it from anybody.

They have run a truly baffling campaign. After being in power for nearly a decade, their campaign has focused on two things:

Not searching a landfill for the remains of two aboriginal women killed by a serial killer. The guy was caught, told people where the bodies were, but the conservative government has been against searching.

“Parental rights” in schools. We know what this BS means.

Their leader has an approval rating in the 20s and theyve tried to hide her as well.
