Do Quebecois think of Trudeau as one of their own?
As mos said, itâs mostly rural vs cities. Clovis and I live in two of the most right leaning provinces but the cities are still usually NDP provincially and liberal federally.
One of the weirder Canadian politics things is the liberals basically not having a functional provincial party out west.
The Libs seem to be a dying brand everywhere but federally. And even there, Iâll be curious to see what happens when Trudeau retires, heâs the only reason the party got up off the mat in the Harper years.
The NDP has had two great leaders in a row and it hasnât done anything for them though.
My riding didnât have an NDP run two elections ago and last election the person didnât even have a website.
To add to what Clovis said, itâs also a âwhat are you going to do for Quebec?â
They can swing wildly from NDP to Conservative and back based on a policy or two.

I thought he speaks perfect French. Iâve read that even his accent is very Quebecois.
He does but I donât think quebecors see him as a francophone.

Technically anglo vs franco is just about self-identified mother tongue but it has lots more cultural baggage actually attached in Quebec.
It sounds almost like they would get mad at a native Quebecois if his English got too good.
Heâs from Montreal I believe, which is the English/bilingual city in the French province.
