Lunch libations sound delightful. Who would give that up?
My in laws were these people. They definitely spent plenty of time with family. They started their own consulting company in their 30s. And they kept going well into their 70s, would have gone longer if not for health reasons. Didnât need the money. Theyâve got lots of other interests. They traveled a ton. Over the years they cut back some, but they were still logging major billable hours until they hung it up. They really loved it that much.
I would also speculate retiring and drawing down your retirement is like admitting you are about to die for some of these people. They are terrified of it.
If I could wake up tomorrow and never have to do anything work wise again and not worry about money until I die Iâd be literally telling people to fuck off because I donât care. And Iâd likely never engage things like politics again unless I had money to influence things and/or a voice to influence things. These people are judging shit that still affects peopleâs lives and they are half senile. Our Supreme Court is a glorified HOA. Come @ me.
My fuck off comment was misstated. I just mean I wouldnât interfere in anyoneâs life and likely become a hermit.
Iâm pretty sure most of these people donât have any real hobbies or interests outside of their work. Work = life
And itâs not like these ancient Congress critters actually do much work. They just like being important, even though theyâre running the country into the ground.
Of all the infuriating losers on the so-called left, lawyers are at the top of the list.
Breyer for sure dying end of next year just in time for new senate to take over.
Watching this night stalker doc on Netflix, thereâs a section where they show Diane Feinstein as mayor of San Fran where she held a presser giving out all the details they had and a bunch of info no one knew and the killer didnât know they had.

House Majority Whip James Clyburn says âif it comes to thatâ the select committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack will ask former President Donald Trump to testify, but would prefer not to call on a former president.
âThey should go wherever the facts lead,â the South Carolina Democrat told CNNâs âState of the Union.â âI would not want to see a former president testify in such a situation as this, but if thatâs what it takes in order to get to the bottom of this.â
Yeah, Jim. Just ask him.
Dear Christ. This January 6 Committee is going to be even more useless than I thought it would be.
-100% chance he is asked to testify. 1% chance the committee accomplish anything at all
Kennedy hired clerks before he retired, this doesnât matter.
Iâm trying to think of the upper range of outcomes for this committee and Iâm coming up completely blank.
As in Iâm literally struggling to think of any plausible positive outcome of this charade.
This would be such a fucking stupid idea. Last thing they need to do is give Trump the spotlight for something like this.
What happened to the clerks? Presumably ACB came with her own, so what happened to Kennedyâs.
So he testifies, admits it, gets a ton of press and fires up his base? Lol democrats
