LOL Democrats - Tik Tok on the clock, but the party don't stop

I tend to believe that she is sincere in her sentiment here:

The authors of this book are political reporters for NBC News and The Hill. Pretty cool that neither outlet reported on the Clyburn thing when it happened.

At least we will be able to laugh at her when the new voting laws in AZ lead her to lose by 5 points.

Unless she just plans to switch parties after the voting laws go into effect. Still think anybody not Romney who voted to impeach Trump is going to be in a very tough spot winning an R primary.

The house guy who switched parties did it specifically because he refused to impeach Trump and was 10x more Trumpy than Cinema or Manchin.

Ah yes, let’s look at some of the “better, commonsense legislation” the filibuster has previously brought us

In 1946, five Southern Democrats — senators John H. Overton (LA), Richard B. Russell (GA), Millard E. Tydings (MD), Clyde R. Hoey (NC), and Kenneth McKellar (TN) — blocked a vote on a bill (S. 101) proposed by Democrat Dennis Chávez of New Mexico that would have created a permanent Fair Employment Practice Committee to prevent discrimination in the workplace. The filibuster lasted weeks, and Senator Chávez was forced to remove the bill from consideration after a failed cloture vote, even though he had enough votes to pass the bill.

LOL Democrats forever.

It’s sort of nuts that dems could literally just pass bills that would make it way more likely that people voted and would get money out of elections so that they don’t have to spend all their time fundraising and they just don’t. They could change the face of our democracy, but they won’t, because people representing like a fifth of our population don’t want them to.

Nancy Pelosi and e-dems love going to the fundraisers and rubbing elbows with elite who are their friends and give them a lot of money

Well, if Twitter discourse over the stimulus is accurate (granted it probably isn’t), then Sinema and Manchin are actually correct about what constitutes “bipartisanship” in this country: ensuring that not a single cent goes to someone who doesn’t need or “deserve” it. Apparently people who make $80K a year are rich as kings and it would be a travesty to send them a stimulus check, even if it’s based on outdated income and regardless of their cost of living. I basically see no reason not to give up on this country, it will just never go for nice things and always go to screw others.

It’s absolutely pathological.

Nancy Pelosi is 80 years old and worth somewhere around a hundred million goddamn dollars.

Fucking retire.

She’s worth quite a bit more than 100 million dollars.

Good.

Wait, what?

Sure, but she already passed the bill, so she’s at least willing to make token attempts at fixing our democracy.

This is why republicans want to delay as long as possible.

If R’s delay long enough, Dems will self-negotiate until we actually owe the previous checks back to the gov’t.

DSA backed progressives just swept the Nevada Democratic Party elections after organizing non-stop since 2016. The entire incumbent staff snap quit and took severance checks. But vote blue no matter who, am I right?

Never underestimate the contempt that the establishment has for anyone trying to approach from the left.

Seems like an argument for trying to take over the Democratic Party from the inside rather than trying to destroy it from the outside.

No powerful party will ever be good; not for long anyway.

No non-party will ever be powerful enough to accomplish anything; not for long anyway.

It’s important for there to be opposition. Permanently.

If you wanna see the downside and upside of 1 party rule, look no further than california. There’s almost no GOP here.

Same with NY and their state Democratic Party sucks.
