LOL Democrats - Tik Tok on the clock, but the party don't stop

Why is this lol?

It’s not

CA did the same thing I think. Progressive sites were split. One thought it was a good idea. The other thought it would lead to more racism in determining who’s dangerous and who’s not. We’ll see how it plays out.

I can’t find the exact Graeber quote that I’m looking for, so this will have to suffice.

FFS

So there’s a little more to this:

In a Nov. 30 letter to Pelosi, Porter asked to be considered for seats on the Oversight and Reform, Natural Resources, and Financial Services committees — in that order — in the new Congress that began on Jan. 3.

Porter also asked Pelosi to “prioritize” her spot on the Oversight Committee and asked to rejoin the Financial Services Committee on a waiver.

Porter will hold onto her seat on the Oversight Committee and join the Natural Resources Committee this year, the Democratic aides said.

A senior Democratic aide familiar with the steering committee decision said it was risky for Porter to prioritize spots on other committees while asking for a waiver to retain her spot on Financial Services after Democrats lost seats in the 2020 election.

It’s terrible.

I sure am glad the progressives managed to negotiate the bare minimum committee assignments in exchange for supporting Pelosi for another speakership.

Onion.

Good thing we won those two seats in GA. If there’s no more to this story then I’m basically done, both here and with the Dems.

Apparently this is how it was last time it was 50/50 and Dems can still move stuff to the floor and generally control everything. Not gonna freak out over it (yet).

That was in 2001, totally different political landscape before McConnell started ratfucking everything

This.

Imagine a completely opposite scenario where the GOP has the VP. Then imagine Mcconnell agreeing to a power sharing arrangement. Hopefully you’re now laughing at how crazy of an idea that is, as McConnell would never agree to such a thing and would crush the Dems.
