LOL Democrats - Tik Tok on the clock, but the party don't stop

I’m not sure that it matters, but if it does, Chicago is a terrible choice.

Well, when I think of party unity, I think “Chicago Democratic Convention”.

Why is it a terrible choice?

Gotta make sure you run up the totals in places like Chicago so you win the popular vote amirite? Hillary 2016!!!

New Mayor-Elect is Brandon Johnson, so Chicago really was the obvious choice.

No indication of a return date because she probably doesn’t know she’s a senator.

Last time it was in Chicago it went alright.

I had to look it up: re-nomination of Clinton/Gore, riding high on the dream of the 1990s. IMO we are much closer to 1968 vibes.

Anyone want to take this one? I assume that the existence of any sort of convention bump for that party’s candidate in that state could be studied (and probably has been). So, for everyone who is saying it is terrible, how much of a bump do you think the convention is worth and why?

Conservatives in Twitter online are so excited about Chicago being bad for Dems that I wonder if part of the plan is to induce dumbassery from anti-woke Republicans and embrace a culture war battleground.

Republicans have shown a high willingness for fuckery, so maybe it’s better to have the convention in a state controlled by Democrats. It sounds like Atlanta was the second choice. Would you trust Brian Kemp to not try to screw Dems?

No reason to think the convention location affects vote totals anywhere.

Article said that Atlanta wanted it and I’d say you reward the state that has transformed in the last 15 years from a state that even 2008 Obama couldn’t win to a legit purple state that has two Democratic senators.

I’m not claiming that the location matters; I’m just saying if it does, Chicago was the wrong choice.

Well we know that but I think the people running the party still believe in it based on how big of a deal they make out of it every time.

If you believe the stories, concern over hosting it in a pro-gun state like Georgia was a concern.
