LOL Democrats - Tik Tok on the clock, but the party don't stop

The times I felt good about being an American were all because of my own ignorance. šŸ¤·

The morning after Obama got elected for the first time was the last time I was ever proud to be an American. And the first time too not counting when I was young and dumb(er). And of course this one too turned out to be unfounded.

I was rooting for Caitlyn Jenner in 1976. I was counting up the USA medals that olympics - probably the last time I watched them.

It was still unproven that a Black person could win. I guess you could be ā€œproudā€ that some Americans thought a Black person should be president and others held their nose and voted for him because he represented their political party.

I donā€™t really see the point in feeling pride or shame in being American.

You didnā€™t listen to even one minute of the speech you linked.

eta: You need to get 1:24 in for him to complete the thought.

eta: Omg the comments. None of the party loyalists listened to the speech at all. The hatred these people have for Bernie is astounding. Heā€™s paid in Rubles. Heā€™s doing what Trump wants. Go ahead Bernie, vote against the American people. Canā€™t stand not being the center of attention. And then these party loyalists wonder why anyone is turned off by them.

Bernie isnā€™t going to vote against the bill.

Third paragraph is too far for most people.

Given that this is the last reconciliation bill that we will be considering this year, it is the only opportunity that we have to do something significant for the American people that requires only 50 votes and that cannot be filibustered. This is an opportunity that must not be squandered.

Of course heā€™s not. He said it was an opportunity that must not be squandered 1 minute and 24 seconds into the speech that was in that link.

Very much this

Bernie is 0% to vote against or hold up a bill that the other 49 Democratic senators want to pass.

WTF are we even talking about here?

Seriously. Thereā€™s nothing to feel prideful about and itā€™s not really constructive being ashamed of your inferiority to Canadians, no matter how understandable that shame would be.

Anyone who wants to see objectively how superior to the US Canada is in every way should spend 2 days on the New York side of Niagara Falls followed by two days on the Canadian side.

1984 Summer Olympics

They just fucked up traffic (even worse) in LA.

More gold medals than any other countryā€™s total medal count. USA#1

THATā€™S SOCIALISM!

Ya I mean obviously there is no magical year for the US because itā€™s always been a total shitshow. I picked it because you had the first year of Clinton when there was some promise of getting some decent things done and it was before the 1994 election which really permanently reshaped the GOP and our country as a whole. The economy was fairly good in the 90s as well. Ultimately I was just saying it was the best I could come up with in my lifespan.

I will echo what others have said and say that I have not been proud to be an American for quite some time. I literally cringe telling people in other countries where I am from.
