Doesn’t he just have to threaten to accuse them of being anti-bipartisanship? The milquetoast Dems would cave and bring whatever Mitch wants them to vote on.
Another simple tactic would be for Mitch to offer something to Schumer in exchange for bringing Republican legislation forward for voting first, then just not give Schumer whatever he promised.
Asking how Mitch will achieve anything in the fact of establishment Dem opposition is like asking how the Globetrotters expect to win against the Generals.

Yep, I didn’t know it until a couple years ago when Schumer forced a vote on something and everyone was aghast that he dared to do that. Evidently it’s just a norm that the majority leader sets the schedule, but any senator can force a vote on anything at any time.

They fundamentally aren’t in politics to get shit done. For a lot of these people it’s just a fancy social club. Like Sheldon Whitehouse does a nice job talking up the blatant corruption of our judiciary, but fuck if he’s actually going to do something about it in between trips to his whites only beach club.

Ohio congressional decision was waiting on this issue to resolve, now this is precedent there’s a good chance federal maps redistricting will be on the table. They have to move fast with primaries right around the corner.
