Note a big fan of Rime tbh, don’t like the short ballad stanzas and meter, it gives it a certain pace I guess, but Kubla Khan is just so flowy and energetic
I probably am not the person to do Picasso, because once you’ve seen this in person, there is nothing else of his that comes close. Hands down the most powerful piece of art I’ve ever experienced.

Rounders is a shit film. Well, maybe too strong, but average at best.
I read somewhere that Matt Damon, not a huge star at the time, was working with Malkovich and he started doing that weird Teddy KGB Russian accent. During a break in filming Malkovich leant over to Damon and whispered “I’m a terrible actor” lol.

I’m also with Suzzer in not watching movies at home. As a result there’s a substantial list of classic movies I have never seen. I’ve never seen a Godfather movie, for starters. Not Goodfellas either.
+1 to Chris there. Rounders was not terrible, but not really good.
Goodfellas and the first couple Godfather movies otoh were very good.
It’s a question of classes. Sure compared to all movies Rounders is nowhere near the top. Compared to all gambling/poker movies it is clearly the best ever made.

Rounders is better than both of those, especially colour of money.
I’ve seen each once. I’ve seen Rounders too many times to fairly compare it to anything besides Die Hard or Demolition Man.
That “Colour” of Money is not an actual movie is the only reason you can still be allowed to post here.

Agreed. It’s the only song of hers that maintains such esteem across multiple generations. Frickin high school choirs sing All I Want for Christmas. Ask a twelve year old to sing All I Want for Christmas vs any other Carey song of your choosing.
Olds might prefer her debut days, and I’m among them, but AIWfC is the clear winner for her best song.
