Let's fight about artists with one clear *best* song

I loved the original True Grit as a kid. I should give the new one a try.

Just hit me, EJ singing sounds like Bryan Adams here. Like add some GOAT blues runs to that, it’s an Eric Johnson song.

yup. super good

can see why he was compared to Springsteen in this

I blew many a teenage load after school to the side boob in that one Bryan Adams video.

It’s excellent. Jeff Bridges at his best, great secondary role by Matt Damon, and a stunning debut performance by now-famous actor and singer Hailee Steinfeld. The book is quite good, too, if you read.

Yeah Off the Wall was definitely a transition from the bubble gum stuff to Thriller - and some great songs on there.

REM is impossible. Murmur is the best debut album ever and one of the most perfect albums of all time. It’s ridiculous to try to do REM imo - just like Beasties or U2.

lol the Force has gotta lot of power

Credit for the bold take, but you’re high if you think Pulp Fiction isn’t his best work. It’s almost unfathomably brilliant on like a million levels.

True Romance is really, really good though. Christopher Walken just crushes it.

how many in here know MJ’s Stranger in Moscow? Holy shit, it’ll make you cry.

For Bryan Adams I would say it would be Summer of 69

I wouldn’t even pretend to know what’s best with EJ, there’s just a bunch of stuff I really like, trademark, desert rose, manhattan, I think I’ve linked soul surprise before.

How about “When You’re Gone?”

I have to declare an interest in Sporty Spice at this point.

Sorry, am I missing something, he sounds pitchy and off and the idea that he deserved a James Brown get the cape out for that performance is [sic in honor of the dotard] outrages

lol I just dig it… Over the top stuff with that entourage of pink-clad goofball dancers. The tune is well-written. Melody for me always lol

Well you haven’t seen their best ones.

No Country for Old Men
Fargo (you’ve seen)
O Brother Where Art Thou
Blood Simple (oldie like Miller’s Crossing)
True Grit (and I’m not usually a Western fan)

Grand Budapest Hotel is Wes’ best movie; Moonrise Kingdom also good; I also liked his first one, Bottle Rocket, more than Rushmore or Royal Tennenbaums.

True Romance is awesome but he didn’t direct it. Reservoir Dogs is maybe my favorite (perhaps cause it was my first?), but I like all QT movies.
