After this last election I think the correct answer is who the fuck knows. The inverse is true, how many people weren’t motivated to kick out Trump but are now motivated to vote in a runoff? Not sure what we can glean from the county data besides approximating dem turnout. Day-of voting is the big wildcard.

Texas had like 120% of total 2016 turnout in early voting and Biden still got crushed there. im not getting my hopes up

For Georgia, I’d think them pushing biden winning helps them, makes them think go I HAVE TO VOTE TO STOP THE COMMUNISTS.
One poster here noted (sorry forgot who) that some people just don’t vote because they think there’s no chance their team can win–with biden carrying georgia anyone like that now knows that’s not the case in the state.

The hispanics I know that like Trump in CA are all about guns, against illegal immirgants, and lower taxes even though they make like 70k. They’ve fallen into the lie that they’re apart of the group that is getting fucked by democratic tax hikes.
Never mind that Trumps tax plan absolutely raped them if they were home owners. My ex’s dad mad like 80k a year and has a nice house he bought way back when and refinanced, he went from getting like 3k back to owing 5k.

He had a shot in FL and bombed. If he got Hillary’s numbers in the Rio Grande valley, it’d look like he would have had a chance.
it wasnt just that he lost, he underperformed RCP by 4.5 points despite record early voting/turnout.
My optimistic thesis is that a) Trump reached out to groups along the Rio Grande Valley that no one has ever reached out to, and b) I read somewhere that Latinos tend to have a strong incumbent bias. Which makes sense as they really just want stability. It’s kind of a white privilege thing to want to throw out your leaders at the drop of a hat because you know nothing really matters to you personally. It feels truthy to me that recent immigrants and their communities would generally just want things to not get worse.

Haven’t played it yet, but the Nazis have lots of mechs in these games, so I expect him to be tricked out.
I’m not going to buy into it being a lock that Dems are gonna win these races, but I can say with 100% confidence that the beast of democratic engagement has finally awoken in Georgia. The amount of attention and focus is night and day, even from the 2016 general.
This won’t be a repeat of the 2008 runoff. Dems will turn out and make this close, at least.
