True punk rock only comes from the Punk region of France, the rest of it is just sparkling shouty music.
REM Automatic for the People is one of the most punk albums of all time.
Far stronger case for Cole Porter imo.
(also just kidding obv but it is basically a wide-ranging diss track)
Lana is great but she is pretty boring live.
I’ve seen that many times, but just now noticed that’s Allen Ginsberg.
Wonder when the first diss in music happened. Probably someone in a cave.
This has got to be one of the most punk things ever in music. Plugging in at Newport Folk Festival and playing Maggies Farm…
Love No Control, but I could listen to the whole thing and then re-listen to the first four tracks on my work commute and it took me less than 35 minutes to get there.

College textbooks are the biggest scam going.
Nobody owns a book.
one of the perks of being the child of a college professor is the ability to get college texts for free. My dad knew it was a scam and had no issues helping not only me, but his grad students get around the scam.
The only people he didn’t help get free books were his physics for pre-med students because it was a huge class and most of them were idiots.
Well, sort of.
We own the medium that the book or piece of music is held on, but the actual art itself should be free.
It’s the reason why people instinctively didn’t mind shelling out for LPs/CDs but begrudge paying to download a stream of 1s and 0s.
What about a cat?
I’ve had several cats in my lifetime but haven’t owned any of them.
People thinking they own a cat is the ultimate self-pwnage.
A friend of mine just asked about good, neutral US media sources that report about the US political landscape. I couldn’t really make a recommendation because either the sources are not good (ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN) or have a clear political affiliation like vox.com
What would you recommend?
He is a classic liberal with pol-sci and history degrees that is politically active but only has only had a passing interest in US politics although he is way more informed than the average US voter.
I use reuters US edition, it’s decent but not outstanding.
I think I’ve mentioned before about how my property professor tried to shame me for not buying the newest edition casebook in the middle of a lecture when he asked what my thoughts were about footnote 5 or something on a certain page and I told him I don’t have that in my book because I had like 2 editions ago version. After ranting about me I wondered aloud saying like how someone in 2010 could have something new and insightful to say about a case from 18fucking50.
Professors are all in on the grift. Have to protect that golden goose.
I bought like two textbooks my last year of law school. Just googled the cases from the syllabus, lol law school
How’d I get the edgelord tag? lol
