That’s how I felt when barbers started offering to trim my eyebrows.

Why don’t the ducks fly away?

I’ve always struggled to find background music to work to. I’ve tried jazz, opera, classical, generic pop/rock. I’ve never settled on anything.

Right now, I’m trying a nature sounds channel. But since I’m sitting in my basement office, hearing all this heavy rain and water is making me paranoid that my basement walls are leaking and my house is going to collapse.

Watching golf on a Thursday morning.
Downside it is

Needs lawn care equipment interspersed - and the occasional garbage truck banging around - and that’s my work medley.

I like more chill electronic music.

^^^^^ that’s my goto choice for music to work to as well. Usually with no lyrics, and a beat that keeps you positive and moving forward.

Instrumental hip hop ftw. A few suggestions:

Heres an expermential downtempo classic thats a mix of soundtrack aesthetics, breaks, electronica and general weirdness

Last but not least, the entire Boards of Canada catalog. These guys are masters of their domain only rivaled by Richard D James (The Rodney Mullen of of idm/downtempo electronica)

Trivia tidbit. Before Franz Liszt pianists would generally sit with their backs to the audience, but he was a rock star and didn’t want to deny the audience his profile and since then pianos are generally put sideways.

I am mildly offended at the implicit suggestion that Boards of Canada is background music.

What about a cappella hip hop (that isn’t an a cappella group doing hip hop covers)?
