Bigger fireworks fail:

Wat.
Canada day fireworks are huge pretty much everywhere. I’d assume there are 100 places to buy in AB.
Canada day. Not every day.
Not buy them I don’t think. I can’t think of ever seeing them for sale.
I would be absolutely shocked if they weren’t popular in the suburbs and rural AB.
Spent my first 20 years living in a small town. Never once saw someone with fireworks.
Maybe it’s an Alberta thing.
I used to love fireworks but I despise them now because of the stress it causes one of our dogs. We’ve tried so many things to try to calm her down but nothing works, and some of the fuckers round here set them off at 2am around Guy Fawkes night. Conversely our other dog seems to be completely oblivious to them going off.
Fireworks are one of those things like air shows where I get the appeal in the like 1920s or something but it just baffles me that people apparently still enjoy them.
It’s an increasingly rare 21st-century opportunity to experience a group emotion. You might get something close in a comedy club or a movie theater, but a large crowd on a crisp summer evening sharing in spectacle and a little danger is unlike so much other 2020 entertainment.
I dunno, I feel like there’s a frisson of danger with any large gathering in 2020
Blowing shit up is always enjoyable.
I felt the same way about air shows until one of my buddies dragged me to the show in AC like 5 years ago. We were on the rooftop bar of one of the hotels that overlooked the ocean, essentially eye level with some of the lower flying planes. Admittedly it was pretty damn cool. Don’t know how I’d feel about going and standing in a field/tarmac looking up at them though.
Congrats you are qualified to lead America’s foreign policy!
And domestic!
That’s the greatest thing I’ve ever seen.
Yeah, it is hilarious. I don’t remember where I found it (possibly 2p2) but I do remember laughing like a frikkin hyena when I saw it.
