Yeah in the 70ās we worked u til the 24th and I remember the days my mum would take us to meet the father so she could commandeer his wagesā¦ 
And the reason I remember it was because that day was the work party day, when the kids all got a present from the factory and those parties got cancelled around 1977/78 making me rather sad. 
I also remember those days we got an orange for Xmas as they were great big ones the size of my head and so juicy, later on at night the oranges were used for the vodka. 
Hogmanay was our holidays season before the 80ās, xmas was fun but it was no hogmanay.

Yeah of course - thatās why I said seal instead of define or something. Itās the nail in the coffin for the UK too, and probably other idioms I canāt think of right now.
Itās a crying shame we canāt keep Scotlandās warm hearted people and beautiful cities and landscape in the UK and swap them for fucking middle England and its diebitters.

Well I know I talked about the UK but I was never a big fan of it anyway tbh, even without taking the embarrassing colonial history into account.
I prefer much smaller units all being part of the EU. What does the average Londoner/Manc/Scouser/Geordie really have in common with the average villager in middle England?
