Behind these big, abstract stories like the UK blockade are the small human tragedies. For example the beer a friend was about to post me will now likely not get through, plus we tried to get decent bacon for pigs in blanket this morning but M&S (our only option here in France) was already sold out with no re-stock in sight. Humbug!
There’s a handful of franchised out food shops, M&S itself had a couple of big shops but closed them some years back. It’s a much needed outlet for tea, beans and bacon. Only place I know of that does decent breakfasts here are a few Irish pubs in the centre.
