The poor in laws… No way we can have the wedding there now, Scotland it is then.

:+1:

Sounds great.

We had our honeymoon in Scotland.

Japanese carmaker Honda has warned that production at its Swindon plant will be disrupted, after transport problems caused a shortage of parts.

The plant operates on a “just in time” production system, where parts arrive at the factory when they are needed.

Honda has told employees that it is currently experiencing vessel delays and congestion at UK ports.

It will pause production on Wednesday “due to transport-related parts delay”, the car giant said.

I seem to remember the brexiteers on 22 assuring us that JIT manufacturers would be fine.

It’s just not news here (France). There’s one story on Le Monde most of the way down the front page, thrust of which is - Johnson’s gambling, seems like a daft choice, but [shrug].

At every stage it appears the Tories actually thought EU solidarity was about to give and unlock a great deal for them. It took me literally years to even grasp they were serious and it wasn’t an act, that’s how completely non-tethered to reality that seems from within the terrible clutches of the EU27.

Good luck over there. Part of the calculation for us not visiting family this Christmas was not wanting to have to travel back around Brexit D-Day. Though there was the whole COVID angle too, admittedly.
