There is a fringe element of the Democratic Party that is very similar to the mega-insane wing of the GOP (albeit with good, not bad, ultimate policy goals). These people, represented well in this thread, will brand anyone to the right of Bernie Sanders a corrupt centrist loser. If the point was just having the best ideas, then fine. But if you’re trying to get those ideas implemented, rolling over for joe biden isn’t exactly impressive.
there is an obvious choice for VP that would do a lot to unite the party but the establishment has too much ego and too much donor money and it would be tantamount to endorsing houses and healthcare for the poors so it’s never going to happen
