Matt with the lowest score I’ve ever seen!
Had to be 3-4 misses where he was sooooo close.
Number 3 all time I think. There was a -7400 earlier this year which beat the old record of -6800
He was either WAY off, like he was just buzzing in and hoping he was going to know it, or he basically knew it, but didn’t know the right word/pronunciation like so many of us regular folks. It was painful to watch.
And that’s why heading to the bottom of the board right away is only effective if you’re REALLY good.
How much can you bet on a DD with a negative or 0 roll? I know for Final you are just eliminated.
I think it’s $1k in the first round, $2k in the second.
This is correct
IIRC, the -6800 was in the Tournament of Champions.
I feel like the venn diagram of people who get on the show and people who should not start at the bottom is two circles that are barely touching.
Amy kicking all kinds of ass
Loved the challenger Pam today. Great energy, great game, but Amy is a juggernaut
It would have been hard to watch Pam long term. I felt like I had to grip the edge of my seat the entire time due to her intensity. You could tell shes an individual sports person.
Wtf were those wagers
25,000 (13,000)
16,600 (300)
5,400 (who cares)
Wow did our champ overbet from first. 2nd wagered enough to get above a cover bet miss from first (8,201 for a miss total of 16,799).
By overwagering, Amy put herself in needless jeopardy.
Corrected third place.
If they both miss, 2nd would have won. 2nds bet was a rational wager, so should have been factors in by first.
Don’t bet anymore than you have to. Her continuing win equity is much higher than the average player, worth was more than the extra few grand she won.
Given standard second place wagers, firsts bet is a small leak, but a leak non the less.
Ill be curious to see if her wagers change if she holds to a break. Matt got a bit more agressive in his late DD wagers after his break. I assume he had coaching during that time. Wagering is a very important part of the game that is often overlooked even amongst the smartest as they concentrated more on their general knowledge than their game theory. It wouldnt surprise me fpr any long running champ to take some wagering coaching during a break.
Not that shes a BAD wagerer. Her 37K average speaks pretty highly to that fact, but like you said, even small mistakes can be hugely detrimental a single time.
Have had quite the run of great players after Matt Amodio. Like if you had me wager next TOC Amodio versus the field after his run I would have taken Amodio. But now I am taking the field, though Amodio clearly would still be the favorite. But Amy is a beast.
I always blurt out some sort of inappropriate answer as soon as the Wheel of Fortune puzzle is displayed.
