They’ve been doing that since 2012.
I guess many of you have seen this clip before, but as we watch this thing snowball I can’t help but think of how prophetic it was.
A Face in the Crowd and Idiocracy were prophetic.
That’s easy: “FOUR MORE YEARS BITCHES!”
Reasonableness aside, it’s hard to know how to respond to such a large segment of our population that has quite literally been torn and separated from reality. I mention over and over how fortunate I feel not to have a loved one or anyone dear to me who is a Trump supporter because I’m pretty sure I’d feel the need to completely sever ties and cut them out of my life. However, I talk to many who do have people close to them who STILL support him! One of my co-workers can’t stand Trump, but has +30 year friends with many who are ardent supporters. She says she can’t just dump them because they are still very good and caring to her
I question whether I’m wrong to call +70M people dumb, stupid, ignorant and delusional. Many are functioning adults who still seem to treat their loved ones and friends in a good caring manner. Yet there’s a disconnect that can not be resolved. I equate it to people who are deeply religious. There is no getting through to people who refuse to base their beliefs on facts. It’s like two people staring at a white wall and one of them insisting it’s purple. It’s kind of a conversation stopper
We’re very likely to see more violence and it’s going to reach a point where we can no longer write them off as harmless fools. It’s really going to come down to two camps. Those that accept empirical reality and those who don’t. Can we live side by side? I don’t see how
This country is absolutely hopeless.
Wondered about this myself: In U.S., 84% Accept Trump as Legitimate President
Pre-inauguration, so not quite apples-to-apples, best I could find, though.
Worth noting that this is a different question. This is “do you personally accept him as a legitimate President?” versus the other one which is “do you think he really won enough votes to win the election?”
In fact, it’s quite reasonable to hold the opinion that a President who took power after receiving 3 million fewer votes than his opponent is illegitimate, even if you acknowledge the fact that he won enough votes to win the election. The 32% who answered that Biden didn’t win enough votes are operating from pure fantasy.
There is no equivalence. People who peddle that lie (guys like Glenn Greenwald) do so because it is core to their identities that there is no difference between Ds and Rs.
Not actually insane but not sure where else to put it

The GOP is quickly merging into Alex Jones
If you’re looking to peel off part of the Republican coalition, it’s going to be the corporate donor class and not the rank-and-file Trump supporters. That might not be worth the necessary compromises.
I feel like instead of spinning the wheels on this other stuff it is time we figure out how we properly separate the country.
We could have a draft of states, but that could go pear-shaped quickly.
What’s the right way to approach this, as it is becoming more clear every day that what is going on is not at all tenable.
What’s funny is Greg Abbott tweeted today that the Texas Supreme Court has allowed sandy hook families sue Alex Jones.
He gave no additional context so I asked him if he just tweeted that was something that was good for Texas since he only normal tweets things that are bad.
My crazy ass neighbor has gone from three percenter flag to a F*CK BIDEN flag
Hard not to call that an improvement, lol.
the hawaii gop official responsible for this thread has already resigned, at least. so they’re at least doing better than arizona, texas, or oregon.

The “Big Game” is bullshit this year. Trumper Brady vs Chiefs deplorable fan base.
Is Brady a Trumper like Curt Schilling or more like Mariano Rivera? You can’t really blame him if he’s like Rivera.
A lot of people don’t pay attention to this shit.
