You’re actually saying I can’t make a list of practicing Catholics that has a single good person on it and you are morally superior to every person on said list?
Preachy stuff can get annoying, but the “very worst aspects of religions” are really, REALLY bad.

This discussion reminds of what my Polish Catholic mother said about Pope Francis - he isn’t a real Catholic but rather a homosexual jew communist. They, and their friends, have frequently labelled any non-deplorables associated with their church as ‘not real Catholics’.

My Dad and Mom were both raised Catholic. Neither is Catholic anymore. Same for 5 out of 6 of my Mom’s siblings. If Catholics didn’t have so many kids it would be dying out.

Latino Catholics seem to still be going strong. And unfortunately, Latino Catholics are breaking way more red than anyone would have thought.
Oh they aren’t (but nor are most Christians, Jesus was a communist/anarchist after all). The most Catholic thing they do is refuse to get a divorce after 30 years of mutual misery.

I mean lots of us knew latino catholics were extremely conservative, only thing stopping them going red was the extreme racism. But if they stopped the racism they might lose the rural voters.
If they can somehow hold the alliance of extreme racists and catholic latinos together, and expand it, we’re in big fucking trouble. But I mean, WAAF anyways. I give us like a 20% chance of stopping this before it becomes a one party system after Repubs rig the absolute shit out of the system. If we don’t get a new voting rights act and add two more states for senate seats we’re completely fucked. Which means we will need to win 3+ senate seats in 2022 and keep control of the house, preferably with a decent lead so the conservatives there can’t fuck us.
