Yeah, I’m disagreeing with that.
As you will recall in 2020, GOP was sweating bullets over him holding his seat. In the end, it was no contest. Any concern about him hypothetically holding in 2022 (primary or general) would end up with the same result. He would not lose and it wouldn’t be close.
I just don’t understand how the GOP will thread the needle of adding anti-vax bullshit to their platform and Winning elections in 2022 and 2024 but have no doubt they will do exactly that.

Highly doubtful, it’s still quite rare for children to die of this thing.
But why not both?
It probably won’t be a mass slaughter of kids, but some will certainly die and many many more will see their teachers, parents and other loved ones die.
But alas, nobody who doesn’t care now will start caring. Expecting sociopaths to suddenly see the light and stop being dipdonks isn’t gonna happen.

School shootings are “quite rare” as well but there are a LOT of school age kids in the US. It adds up.

The ifr May be low but the multiplier of 55+ million school age kids is large.
Say 5 million delta infections
And 0.1% ifr
That would be 5,000 dead kids. Let’s guess 10x that amount that have a severe case. 50,000.
Think people are also understanding the psychological impact on them. Between friends getting sick/dying, online being tougher for some, less food security for others, many missing friends/grad/sports. Too many other problems to list that I’m surely forgetting.
Always nice to have science confirm suspicions like this.
