Lazzaro claimed that his defense attorney in this case had subcontracted the prominent lawyer Alan Dershowitz, a one-time Harvard Law School professor who has advised former President Donald Trump and ex-New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani. However, Dershowitz denied that to The Daily Beast.
“It’s just not true,” Dershowitz said.

Would that suggest that Republican judges with lifetime appointments are going to be more protective of the establishment than those with finite terms?
They’re not popular among the GQP base though so this lets shitheads like Ted Cruz and Rand Paul say vaccines are a personal choice while courts rule that vaccines can be mandated in certain cases, and even lets them rail about “legislating from the bench” and other mewochow like that the base laps up.
Stuff like SCOTUS saving the Republicans from destroying Obamacare.
So the Rs get to posture for either the base or the donors - depending on the issue. But then SCOTUS saves them from actually having to implement something that might be disastrous and the Rs themselves might not even actually want to implement. IE - they’re just pandering.

Whats absolutely wild to me is right now, in rural nebraska or something, there’s thousands of households of lily white people sitting around their couches and pounding away on refresh on Parler or whatever, desperately looking for news of the reinstatement.
