DeSantis does all the right things so maybe he’s the guy, but they also don’t really give a fuck about policy.

DeSantis is clearly positioning himself as Trump2.0 to scoop up the majority of the deplorable vote. He’s adopted all of trump’s mannerisms and speaking quirks to the point that it seems like he is doing a Trump parody when he speaks. Obviously the idiot voters wont recognize that, they’ll just feel a sense of familiarity and warmth when he spews his racist garbage to them.
Not sure what the appropriate thread for this is either the Trump thread or this one, but are people in other states still holding Trump signs on overpasses, or is that just a Florida thing? Because I see it every week still. It’s just insane.
I’ve seen a Trump flag flying off the back of a pickup truck and one on a flag pole in someone’s yard within the past two weeks in NJ. Cult members aren’t going to just up and stop displaying their loyalty to the cult leader.

On bfe street corners in Polk county too. Hell, a couple weeks ago we thought we’d stop at a local nursery – pulled in and they still have life sized dt & melania cutouts at the front door. In Windermere.
We had a decent amount of that even in Minneapolis but only during the lead up to the election. This of course gave me the opportunity to roll down the window and give them the salute of our people.
I saw a guy off the side of busy road 30 minutes outside of Portland selling Trump flags. He had set up in corner of parking lot. He had Trump 2020 flags and Trump 2024 flags. Some other insane ones and a few Ivanka and Don jr 2024 as well. A few weeks ago I saw a random guy that pulled over on the side of highway and was holding up a Trump 2020 sign that was crossed out and 2024 sharpied over.
The one guy in my neighborhood took his down like a month ago and put up a 2nd amendment flag.
You used to see them ALL the time on trucks and shit around here even well after the election. But a couple weeks into Bidens term they started to come down. Overall I’d say they’ve been reduced by like 80%.
Florida is probably extra crazy because he lives there now.

Here in my stupid town, for several years now, Thursday nights in spring/summer are “cruise night”. It’s sanctioned by the cops and the chamber of commerce, they raise funds for the senior center, etc. It’s basically classic cars driving up and down main street for a few hours, the local businesses put out booths, people bring lawn chairs to sit and watch, etc. It’s a big thing.
The first one of the year was held last week:
These guys drove up and down main st, and any posts complaining in the community groups got deleted because they are admined by Trumpers. Our little private progressive group has taken action and called CHP to ask them to be there. Also, they gather in the Post Office parking lot, which is federal property, and I’m not sure that’s entirely legal, either.
Not that I count on the CHP to do anything, but “for the children!” might actually get some more reasonable republicans on board against these idiots.
Also, I plan to force my husband to plant some Pride and BLM flags on our actul classic car and drive up and down the street at a future cruise night. Fuck these assholes.

It’s just another data point on how awful he is and always has been. Like the guy taking a vacation to Eagle’s Nest, making up a club in the same of someone who killed a gay guy 20 years earlier feels a bit too obscure to just chalk it up to general teenage stupidity. Some work had to be put into being that trollish.
