Been saying it for years, Mitch isn’t an evil genius. He’s an evil fish on a heater whose rush is ending. The Garland stunt had almost no chance of working, even though it did. His failure to pass more stimulus before the GA runoffs was one of the stupidest decisions in modern American politics.
He overplayed his hand here. He forgot that he still needs that sweet corporate money so can’t piss them off too much. They probably did not appreciate being told to shut up, but still give us your money.
I mean he isn’t a genius, but he’s definitely bold and has no shame. It also wasn’t just Garland, it was over a hundred federal judges. Giving the right a stranglehold on the judiciary so they can legislate from the bench so Republicans don’t have to actually pass any of their super unpopular evil shit is pretty smart.
He’s done some dumb shit, and probably losing his edge with age, but relative to his competition he’s still the most effective congressperson in their role in the last 30+ years by far.
I mean corporations are still going to make it rain on them, dems are about increasing taxes again and Mitch had just gave them the biggest tax cuts for the rich in history and a historically low corporate tax rate.
They aren’t going to throw that away because he told them to " stay out of politics "
It’s performative from both of them, no idea why Mitch is backtracking though. Maybe he got a mad phone call lol.
I’d guess the CEOs don’t like being personally called out by him. Yes they will still give him the money, but would prefer he not attack them and support boycotts.
You’re probably right that he got a few upset phone calls asking him to tone down the rhetoric.
McConnell’s value is not his genius (which I agree is not impressive), it is his shamelessness. Now, they’re all shameless, but McConnell is at an entirely different level, and that difference is what allows him to do the most outrageous shit.
When McConnell leads the charge on this stuff, the others will go along because it requires less shamelessness to go along than it does to lead the charge. And they’ve all got that amount. But without a McConnell to do the dirty work, there would likely have been less damage done.
Man this shit is so hilarious. These dumbasses read that and probably genuinely think they’ll be reported to Trump if they uncheck the box. The Rs know their target audience so well.
Patagonia come on down, you’re next to be canceled by Republicans
I thought they were talking about the region of South America for a moment. Is both the Chilean and Argentinian part of Patagonia for sale, I asked myself?
Another thing is that it’s not really Mitch who has the power, he’s just doing what the majority of Republican Senators want him to do. If he wanted to do something besides what the majority of Republicans wanted then they would stop him (if it happened often enough, he might get a pass a couple of times).
If i were an evangelical preacher I would be pissed. The RNC is shearing their flock of their disposable income.
Yep. Back on that stud pony, bro. I got an anytime fitness membership. Swole
You have to admit, “democracy but only with people that vote just like me” sounds pretty great!
I’d do it. I think it would be fun to just stand there and read the names while Trump fumes, arms folded.
The fuck? I feel like I’m pretty plugged into Fox News brain and even I don’t get this one.

How else will you identify deviant intellectuals to send to the Reeducation Camps?
They think that they can catch professors engaging in liberal bias and stifling conservative students in the classroom.
